Boat is no good. So he used it to make a quantum entangler. Then he turns it on, entangling the fox, chicken, grain and himself. Then he wades across the river with the quantum entangler. Now everything is in both places so he turns it off and presto. There they are.

Farmers don't own foxes, if the farmer had a fox it would be a dead fox or running wild as he was happy the fox was useful. If the the boat had a large hole it would sink, the man would weigh more than the fox and hen put together, if there was so little grain that the hen could eat it all there would not be enough to worry about. If there was more why worry? The grain could weigh anything that was not too heavy for the man to carry, possibly more than himself. The riddle is riddled with flaws. A real farmer would not take these things to a field together. If he took grain it would either be to feed animals or sow it. He would probably take it with tractor and trailer or with a riddle, (an item of farm equipment for sowing seed).

Firstly he takes the chicken over.....then goes back and he collects the grain and takes this to the other side, but leaves the grain there and takes the chicken back. when he returns, he collects the fox, leaving the chicken back where it started. Once he's got the fox to the other side he then returns for the chicken.....
then finally after he's got everything over to the same side, the Fox asks him why he didn't use the f*cking bridge like everyone else?????

take the chicken first then go back and get the fox. Drop off the fox and take the chicken back to get the grain. Leave the chicken and take the grain back where you dropped off the fox. Then go back and get the chicken again.
