... from the war on terror to AIDS in Africa to all social problems to Darfur to child abuse. [Canada's Leading News Magazine; MacLean's, Apr. 16.]

WHAT DO YOU THINK? ... It continues...
God is a delusion... his adherents commit child abuse on a daily basis; and the murderous clashes of gangs of his followers are the greatest single threat to humanity's future. ... Christstopher Hitchens' 'God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything' ... joins a steady stream of atheist texts that began after 9/11, including:
- Richard Dawkins' 'The God Delusion',
- Sam Harris' 'Letter to a Christian Nation',
- Michel Onfray's 'In Defence of Atheism'.

Pull-Quote: "There's a New clash of Civilizations, not between East and West, but between Rationality and Superstition.

In London on March 27, some 2,000 people turned out to hear Hitchens, Dawkins and A.C. Grayling debate a trio of religious authorities on the assertion "We'd be better off without Religion." (It carried 1,205 to 778.)

This growing movement is Satan himself. The devil has come down to us. The new clash of civilizations is between the believers and the nonbelievers, between God and the godless, because Satan and his followers know that their time is short.

You have just typed ontoYA the spoken words of the antichrist.
You have mentioned the spiritual wickedness in high places and the writers of the darkness of this world. You are the children of the devil and pulling every string to set up the New World Order so Satan can reign.

This is not between rationality and superstition because you are above all the most confused. You have denied your Creator and rejected the Son of God, Jesus the Christ. God laughs at your vote and at the intelligence of Hitchens, Dawkins and Grayling. Truth and righteousness is not in you. You know nothing of the gospel of peace or faith, hope and love.

I stand against you in the Name of Jesus Christ the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, the Creator of All.

i think i will copy-paste on this one:
I don't feel duty-bound to defend stuff that's done in the name of God which I don't think God approved or advocated. Have things been done wrong in the name of Christianity? Yes. Sam makes the statement in his book that religion is bad for the world, but far more people have been killed through atheists than through all the religious wars put together. Thousands died in the Inquisition; millions died under Mao, and under Stalin and Pol Pot. There is a home for atheists in the world today—it's called North Korea. I don't know any atheists who want to go there. I'd much rather live under Tony Blair, or even George Bush. The bottom line is that atheists, who accuse Christians of being intolerant, are as intolerant—

ya... and Sir Elton John probably provided the music... in the end... Im 'fraid we religious folk can't take credit for ALL the problems in the world

historically, religious people are more generous in giving than atheists... perhaps they consider generosity evil... who can say???

perhaps they never heard of Stalin, Hitler or Communism... they didn't like religion either... and they didn't seem to be slouches at doing evil. Perhaps they consider Stalin good? who can say?

sheesh!!!!

the claim tells you more about the person making it than the group, they end up impeaching only themselves

it was religious evangelicals who ended slavery in Europe, started schools in AMerica, started hospitals and orphanges.... but if your heart is set on denying God you eyes are shut a little too tight to notice these things.... I suppose that Mother Theresa was public enemy no 1 on their list???

sadly, England is becoming more and more secular and many are well on their way to forgettin history. If it were not for Tyndale translating the Bbile into English, one scholar commented NO TYNDALE NO SHAKESPEARE... ENgland would indeed be vastly poorer not richer

It's called the secular progressive movement. The desire is for government to take care of everyone. Religion gets in the way of the movement so it must be destroyed because it teaches personal responsibility and accountability. Religion also teaches it's followers to help others and themselves rather than pretend they are victims that need to be taken care of.

Yeah, I looked into it when it was still largely unknown. It's just another form of communism and let the state control everything.

Right. And the meat eaters aren't over in the vegetarian/vegan section harrassing them the same way the Atheists harrass Christians here...

God is good. God is wonderful. Man is problematic. And always will be. Take God out of the equation, we just find something else to fight about.

We wouldn't be better off without religion. Religious bigots, yes, but ridding of religion all together wouldn't make the world better.

Because most people doing those things don't do it for God or for their religion; they do it for themselves.

I love God and democracy more than being able to sleep in on Sundays under a communist state.

I completley disagree. God is not a posion. He saves lifes. He gave sight to a blind man, He turned water into wine, He has performed many miracles to help people. He died on the cross for our sins. If we accept Christ into our heart then we have the joy of going to Heaven when we die. We get the joy of going to a better place. Yes,this world has problems but God is the last person I would blame for it.

God Bless!

I think that some people feel the need to find a scape goat besides human cruelty and our nature to hurt each other. Only good things can come from God. Anything else comes from us bottom line (satan just manipulates what we do he doesn't "create evil").

A lot of people who claim to know God really don't know God at all. The only way to know God is be accepting Jesus Christ as lord and savior in faith, that is the only way. Knowing jesus christ is not a religion its a relationship of faith.

No--GOD is GOOD.
the devil is poison.

Religions are man-made, and some need the Thunder knocked outta them.
Some religions help in a social way.

Being a Child of GOD is Reality.
