SSI doesn't get reported for taxes, so no, since that's your only income, you don't have to file.

No. You do not have to file a tax return because SSI is not taxable. And like you said, this is your only income. So no, do not worry about it.

There is an exception to the rule that SSI benefits are not taxable. But if your ONLY income is SSI, the exception does not apply.

The better question is how much you made. The source of the income is not as relevant as the amount. There is a threshhold that one uses. If you did not make over $x, you do not have to file. That amount has left my brain at the moment. Many communities have volunteers at the local library that can help with this. If you're unsuccessful here, consider asking at your local public library.

SSI (based on need) is not taxable, SSDI (based on prior earnings) may be depending on your total income. If your only income is SSI then you do not need to file and should not.

Your mom will report an earnings tax return for HER earnings if she works and earns money. If she does not, then she has no would desire to report. (Is she amassing unemployment? if so, that's taxable earnings.) Your earnings is almost actually not taxable. And if it have been, *you* may well be the single to report the tax return for it, not your mom.
