Psychology tells us that the human brain struggles to retrieve information that is stored under one mood, unless that mood is repeated. This is the crux of "test anxiety." I get nervous about the test, then can't seem to remember anything, that makes me more nervous, and the ball is rolling.

I teach my students this method that I learned several years ago in the Naval Nuclear Power School. This method is BEHC. I still use this method today.

The initials stand for Breath, Easy, Hard, Check.

The steps are simple and the psychology is sound.

1) Write BEHC on the top of the test.

2) Breath--Close your eyes and take 10 slow and easy breaths. This will clam the heart rate and help the student relax.

3) Find and do the easy questions--performing these will build the confidence and make the harder questions seem easier.

4) Tackle the harder questions-Now that the student BELIEVES that they can do this.

5) If time allows, check for errors-But don't change an answer unless you are certain that it is wrong
This is not my awnser.. Ken B used this awnser for another question and his source was Graduate Geochemistry Student and successful private tutor So.. he really seems to know what hes doing.

there is one way but you will need at least a month of learning time (or if you want it in your mind just for a week or so, just follow the first week)

First you take in the subject that you need to revise. If your not good at revising then i suggest doing around 25 mins (i do this) and then take a short 10min break.
This keeps you relaxed. after revising all the material you need to allow it to settle in your mind, so do nothing until the next week.
now only recap short pieces of the subject. spending up to a maximum of only 2 hours or so (don't forget breaks!)
the next week following you should be able to recap the whole subject within 30mins.
Finally the forth week, you should be able to recap mostly everything within 10mins.
this method will allow you to keep all the information stored in your brain for a long period of time. (its like remembering a phone number!)

Then your done! just a final recap before the exam and everything will flood into your mind.

now the real problem arises.......
Can you actually be bothered to revise? :P

what i like to do is make a study guide fo myself.
i look at the notes i took and write them on my study guide (not all of them like say for math 2+2 then id write down the technique for how to add them) then i write down some tips that i know will help me or like some mistakes i got on quizzes or w/e. i write good luck at the end of the paper (im not sure if that has any meaning to it though) i get a goodnights sleep and in the morning i go over my notes espicaly the tips. :) this technique has gotten me As on all of my tests so far in math and sociology good luck!

there isn't any easier way to study as everyone has a different approach to their studies. however, just try and relax yourself while reading, practice some questions and you'll be fine. the main thing is to get a brief plan on how you'll study and try to RELAX yourself, don't stress or freak out!

the best way to study for an exam is to wait till the last minute and cram. after the test, brain flush everything and start cramming for the next.
