did you kill / injure anyone? damage property? assault the officer? if the answer is no then you won't be going to jail. as a person with horrible driving record i've never been put in jail.
you probably don't really need a defender and you can actually defend yourself. here's my suggestion, dress nice (like you're going to a job interview) ask to talk to the prosecutor. you can ask the prosecutor if you can plead guilty to a lesser offense, like 10 miles an hour over the speed limit vs 19, sometimes that's all you need to do the prosecutor can present your plea without objection, (he actually becomes your defender). the reason they often agree to this is that it saves money, if you plead guilty they don't have to prove your guilt. or when the judge calls your name stand up and plead guilty. either way, you will be fined, your insurance will probably go up. BUT YOU WON'T GO TO JAIL
...... UNLESS YOU BLOW THIS OFF AND DON'T SHOW UP IN COURT. FAILURE TO APPEAR IS A SEPARATE OFFENSE AND A WARRANT FOR YOUR ARREST WILL BE ISSUED. THAT YOU WILL GO TO JAIL FOR.
do the smart thing, pick out your clothes tonight, get to court 1/2 hour early, be polite and try to be calm.
and stop speeding
been there

Jail time? No. A similar ticket in Williamsburg cost me $145 ... add $10 if you need some time to pay the entire amount (up to 3 months). Relax. The worst part is waiting in the court room for your turn. There will be plenty of others there for similar offenses ... listen to each case to pass the time, and get a feel for what to expect.

No jail. Most traffic violations are punishable by fine only. The fine is up to the court. If you absolutely feel that you need an attorney, the court would most likely give you a continuance to obtain one. I'm sure there will be someone in court to advise you.

Chill, Jessi. What good would you be hauled off to jail? The county where the ALLEGED offense occurred stands to profit nicely off your ALLEGED mistake. Brace up for paying that "stiff" fine as a FIRST OFFENDER; make sure it's your ONLY offense. Second best case scenario: you'll only get a reprimand.....yeah, right!!!!
Oh....almost forgot....your auto insurance rates will go up, too.
Subsequent traffic violations from here on will call for higher fines, some community service time....and eventually, jail time. Those are the facts, ma'am.

No jail. A speeding ticket is an infraction. Just take your checkbook.
Relax. It'll be fine.
Edit: The courts aren't there to put good people who have made a mistake in jail. Good luck and again...relax.

General population in jail, just like everybody else! If convicted ... probably a medium security prison with other violent offenders.

No, you'll get a fine and pts off your license. Relax, the fine will be around $100 bucks. It's no big deal. The cop did you a favor, one more mile over the speed limit would have made it a bigger fine and more pts off your license. Peace

When the judge asks what you plea, tell him guilty and request traffic school. your fine is usually less when you plead guilty, and with traffic school, your record will remain clean as far as your insurance company is concerned, (your rate will not go up). and no you will not go to jail.
