Hey everyone! I'm going to New York this week and I'd like to know of some good places to visit. Natives to the area are welcome!!! I really want to know of like little places to eat or visit, not all major attractions there. Thanks!

NY is great to visit! There are so many places to go and see I guess it all depends on what you like to do. There is something for everyone there, well almost. Here are some of my ideas without doing research, just personal experience.
Manhattan:
Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island
Empire State Building
Broadway Shows(my first choice)
Museum of Metropolitan Art
Central Park (ask the police department for areas that you need to be careful about)
Little Italy/ChinaTown (Little Italy has actually become Chinatowon)
Bronx:
Yankee Game at Yankee Stadium
Bronx Zoo
Bronx Gardens
some Italian mom and pop pizzarias in Morris Park area.

Those are the only two boroughs I am slightly familar with.

Hope this helps and have a safe trip.

There's lots of stuff! If you want a great burger while you're here, go to Burgers and Cupcakes on 23rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenue. It's sooo cute and the food is delicious. And on Thursday nights at the movie theater right across the street, they show classic movies for $6.00 and give away raffle prizes. Oh, and April 17 is free cone day at Ben & Jerry's, which is right next to Burgers and Cupcakes. Also try The Burger Joint in the Le Parker Meridien Hotel on 56th street between 6th and 7th Ave. It's tucked away behind a curtain in the hotel lobby and is a tiny little place, but the burgers are sinfully delicious. A NY must. Definitely go by Chelsea Piers to play some miniature golf or go bowling. And for drinks, try Disiac on 54th between 9th and 10th. Again, a tiny little place with an outdoor seating area and great fondue and wine. If you'll be here on April 22nd, that's the day of the MS Walk. The route gives you a great walking tour of the city and you end up crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. I live in Flushing, land of dim sum. If you want authentic Chinese or Korean food and want to skip China Town, head to Flushing. And go see the Cloisters if you can. Great museum on beautiful grounds all the way at the northern tip of Manhattan. Those are just a few ideas. Let me know if you want more.

I know that central park is a major attraction but there are a lot of little things that go on around there. There are little stands where you can get anything from shirts to wallets to carricatures and other things. There's also a lot of people from different cultures there. As far as places to eat, it depends on what you like. You will find something in just about every corner.

You really can't miss any.

But NY is my favorite state (I'm from Detroit, but I have been to city about 10 times and Long Island and all those other side places about a million because my aunt is from that area), and I have to say when you are eating lunch go to Rockerfeller (sp?) Center...the food is SOOO good and it's fun to watch people ice skate. Also, the empire state building is pretty sweet, but it's too bad they took the plaza away...

Chinatown is a might want to-see charm and the lengthy island Sightseeing excursion will take you to diverse places that are might want to-sees..also like vital Park, circumstances sq., etc. they're going to truly take you to Empire State construction. as well, who is going to lengthy island without going to the fashionable Empire State construction? lol have relaxing!

china town is awesome (but crowded).... that's a great place to get nice knock off purses at a decent price (don't buy them on the street in manhattan before you check there)

ellis island is very, very cool.
times square always a good time
check out soho, also pretty neat
and i'm not sure if they still have this or what time of year it starts, but harlem used to have a really cool street bazaar.
