My mother lives 15 minutes away and she manages to come over about 3-4 times a year for a short visit. She has nothing to do with her grandchildren when we invite her to school programs etc. she's to tired or she has a headache. She can stay up til all hours on the computer. But she never hesitates to call if she wants something. We don't even get acknowledgement on our birthdays. Even better than that her grandson was in the hospital for 3 months and she visited him twice. She does tell us she loves us but in my book actions speak louder than words. And she too will someday wonder why she sits alone. What goes around comes around.

she fed me she put the roof over my head and she loved me at one time, but now she is the bitter 80 year old. I do all I can for her, but I either do it wrong, or IF one of her other children HAD done it, it would have been done better, how she knows this is beyond me because none of the others do anything for her

Yap. too long of a story to tell, I have delt with the guilt that I don't like my own mom. But worked thru that and have sworn to make sure that me and my kids relationship thrives! And it does. That makes me feel great. I do fell sorry for her though, she will never change. My dad use to say she will die a lonely old woman, that was over 20 years ago and it looks like that may be what happens to her.ps you can't forgive an forget someone if they keep acting the same way.

my mom is like that somewhat, it's like a chore for her if i tell her to hug me and she ignores what i think most of the time so yeah, i'll bet she is that 80 year old. Only I would probably be helping her out because I'm the only child she has.

yes, my mother had a lot of issues..she ended up in a nursing home with AD...so just try to give her last years some sort of love and comfort...she may not be a good mother but she is all you got for a mother...sounds like the classic bitter mothers syndrome...my mother just forgot all of us kids...she thought i was her brother in the end...just learn from her mistakes...she soon will be with Jesus..so don't be heartless and forgive her for past treatment...some people are just victims of victims...don't be a victim or like this to your family..good luck..sounds like she is a very unhappy women..most selfish people are unhappy and lonely

Yea I hear ya. Maybe she is bitter......maybe she has a condition you dont know about. You think she would be trying to tell you things before she is no longer here......You need to talk to her before it's too late and you regret not getting it out.

Well take the high road and talk to her and try to help her. She may have some mental illness and need you and your siblings help. Peace be with.
