why cant we all get on world peace and all that, why is religion the cause root of wars?

Cause - Hitler marching into Poland.
Where is religion in the following:

Vietnam

As another poster correctly stated - wars are caused by people. Religion has nothing to do with it - unless some dictator want to use it as an excuse.

The Jewish religion, Christianity and Islam do not teach or encourage war. The basic principles of these religions are opposed to war. Central to each is "Love God." and "Love your neighbour as yourself."

Peace begins with the self. It begins with the recognition of what is right and just.

People are the cause of wars. Wars can be because of race, ethnicity, social class, politics and many other things. The statement that religion is "the" cause of wars is extremely narrow. Religion has caused some wars. Religion has been an excuse for some wars. But other wars has no religious reasons at all. Why are people violent? Why do people kill each other? Since we can't stop murder why do you think we will be able to stop mass murder by groups of normal people? We don't always get better when we gather together. Just ask a mob.

With the obvious exception of the Muslim religion, religions do not espouse war.

Satan is the prince of the power of the air due to Adam and Eve (man's sin). Adam gave up the rulership on earth that God gave him by sinning. Man, thru the deceptions of satan is the root cause of war. Satan is powerful and very much alive on planet earth and is deceiving people in many ways. Religion is one of them.
