You really should speak to a doctor about it... There is a lot of wrong information out there.

I have bipolar, but not the kind that everyone thinks of, the week of being manic and the week of being depressed. My bipolar is 85% depression, which is actually true for a lot of people. It can take 10 years for a person to get a proper diagnoses. There are many different types of bipolar.

Mine is more of a day to day thing. My reactions to situations are dramatic, something so tiny can really upset me, and something so little can send me into euphoria. I have more depression than I do mania.

I have been told for years that I have bipolar, but always denied it because of the fact that I don't have those classic symptoms that you hear about.

After being diagnosed by at least 7 psychiatrists with it, I finally accepted it, and have been on medication.

There are different levels of the bipolar disorder. Some have
extreme highs. You feel like you can do anything. Have grandiose ideas, have no fears. Lots of energy with little sleep. Talk very fast and you feel like you can do 10 things at
one time. Can get very angry for no reason, and irrational.Have poor judgment in relationships and problems
with abuse with addictions.
The flip side is extreme blue feelings. Some isolate, can't
talk or be social. Can't enjoy anything. This disease can be
very serious if the person does not get help. It can make you
very unhappy. The good news is it can be treated. It is a
chemical imbalance in the brain. This does not mean the
person is crazy. It is a medical condition just like diabetes.
Millions of people have mental disorders. Allot of research is being done now more than ever. The best thing to do is to
get the correct diagnosis. That is the only way a person can
find out if they are a true bipolar.

They are really happy one day and the opposite the next. The person goes from one pole to the opposite pole. They have trouble concentrating and are emotional thinkers. Bipolar disorder is brought on by a chemical imbalance in the brain and can be treated.

I was FINALLY diagnosed w/bipolar disorder @ the age of 30... But, looking back I could see where I had "high highs" & "low lows." I'm on a mood stabilizer now & it's working fine for me. Check out http://www.webmd.com sometime...it's a great resource.

Manic periods followed by depressive periods. This isn't the kind of thing that fluxuates during a single day but each episode can be days, weeks or months in length.

Check WebMD.com for info, or a mental health professional.

i would reccomend seeing a psychologist or another mental health clinician if you are thinking that you have bi-polar. Bi-polar is severe mood swings that last extended periods of time.
