Conservatives believe in less government while Muslims believe that the religion/government should rule all facets of life. The Muslims want failure in Iraq while the Conservatives want stability. The Muslims have a practice of taking hostages and using terrorist violence to wage war while the conservatives follow the laws of war. The conservatives want mroe personal freedom/responsibility while the muslims want mroe government control. Conservatives enjoy the opportunity and freedom of capitalism while it is despised by Muslim extremists. The conservatives believe in the Judeo-Christian moral base while extremist wish to see that foundation removed from the face of the earth.

So basically if you replace muslim extremist with left wing liberal you could use this same comparison. And though the Muslim Extremist more closely resemble the left wing of america ont he surface, they would kill the liberals first thing becasue they do not honor personal freedom and would not tolerate your hedonistic life styles.

There is really no difference. A zealot is a zealot. I have seen answers here expounding the peaceful nature of the radical religious Reich. An example:
Well, a Muslim extremist will cut off another human beings head all the while praising Allah. They blow up children and mine children's soccer fields in Iraq. I've never heard of any right wing conservatives doing things such as these.
In my opinion the Muslims have just taken it to a more efficient level. Rather than hiding behind a bush across the street from an abortion clinic with a .30 cal rifle to kill in the name of Jesus. They walk right into a crowd of infidels and blow them all up.
Or picketing the funeral of an Innocent Amish girl with signs that read God Hates Fa gs.
It is in my opinion all the same. Hate in the name of god. The truest oxymoron.
It is a very very short step from one to the next.
just the opinion of a middle of the road liberal.

a muslim extremeist is more like a right wing nut (right wing extremeist) ie timothy mcviegh or the neo nazis,

the right wing itself is only the bigoted old men, the left is the tree huggers. both can have extremists,

rightwing extremists are called paramilitaries or vigilantes

left wing extremists are guerillas or revolutionaries.

criminals and terrorists are just criminals and terrorists. of course many would claim the adversary is unjust or a criminal/ terrorist. often the extremists are criminals even if they are vigilantes that is right wingers who go out at night and fight without badges or rule of law.

even though they support the established government, they take matters in thier own hands and skip trials etc doleing out vigilante justice against all percieved threats, ie mexicans, blacks, liberals et al. this makes them criminals but they do have unspoken support from the president be it Bush or Castro, your side does not affect the terminology. The question is who to classify as what.

Regardless of the regime, if you support it whatever it is, you are a conservative. that is the true definition of the term but obviously not the american definition.

PS you are not supposed to define yourself as someone who always agrees or disagrees with whatever establishment may exist. You are supposed to support them based on thier actions. But everything is very confused now and i think most would agree no one really knows much about actual politics. sorry so long, try studying world politics or sociology if politics interests you. You can not make objective decisions based on knowing very little about only your small nieghborhood.

extremist) blows him or herself up in the
middle of innocent people and prays 5 times a day and a right wing conservative lets you live and be free and prays once a week!!!

The adjectives "radical" and "extremist" are redundant.

In Islam, there is a difference between the believer (Muslim) and unbeliever (infidel Kufar). This comprises the two categories of the Dar ul Islam (realm of Islam) and Dar ul Harb (realm of battle).

The use of the term "moderate Muslim" as opposed to "extremist Muslim" or "radical Muslim" is used by Western media not by Muslims.

EXTREMIST/RADICAL - Those who kill shouting "Allahu akbar" are killing in the name of Allah, for the sake of Allah, according to the rules of engagement of the Qur'an. = mujahid (pl. mujahideen) can include clerics or professors who incite followers to jihad.

MODERATE MUSLIM .... the term as it is used in common parlance seems to mean a devout Muslim (one who prays, etc.) but does not kill (qitl) infidels (kuffar - non-Muslims or those who aid them). However, what the Western media may not be aware of is that in Islam, Muslims who aid and abet the "fighter" (mujahid) have nearly the same status and reward as the mujahid.

I think it would be better to classify Muslims according to "observant" or "devout" Muslims and "non-practicing" Muslims. In other words, those who follow the 5 pillars of Islam (plus compulsory jihad) or those who are not religious.

HOWEVER the important difference when dealing with terrorism and the safety and security of non-Muslims is whether a Muslim obeys the Qur'an.....which states....
Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl (8):39
So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world)" ...

Qur'an [Surah al-Hujurat (49):15]
Mumim (true Muslims) believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and without doubt they strive in the cause of Allah( jihad fee Sybil Allah) with their wealth and their lives. Those! They are the sincere.

Not all Muslims blow up things, yet "jihad in the cause of Allah" "jihad fee sybil Allah" is "fard ayn" "compulsory duty" for all Muslims. Why? There are rules from the Quran for combattive jihad.

Among observant Muslims there are those who:
a) jihad in the path of Allah with their wealth and their lives (including those who sit at home but give asylum to mujahidin Qur'an 4:76, 8:74, 49:15) = true Muslim
b) those who sit at home (and do not give asylum to mujahidin or jihad in the path of Allah)
c) the handicapped (does not count as a category)
