Recycling certainly helps the earth.

When we recycle paper we need to cut less trees. When we cut less trees we save green cover and that is important for pure air and water.

When we recycle metal items we have to mine less that is again helping us extract less and so helping the earth.

When we recycle water we are taking out less water from underground (In many regions) so water table does not go down.

Recycling plastic meance we need to produce less and plastic is one of the most harmfull polluters since it doesnot degrade.

These are just a few examples. hope it will be helpful. So recycling is important.

Recycled metals mean you don't have to mine new metal ore, so the damage to the ground caused by mining is reduced. Recycling things like paper and plastic means it doesn't get buried in land fills, and many land fills are getting full and we are running out of space to bury our trash.
