well your very young and still growing, so you need a balanced diet, fruits veggies, meat, white meat like fish and chicken is less fattening than others, healthy carbs like whole wheat bread. and very little of fat, drink lots of water, water is the best thing to drink, stay away from energy drinks there just loaded with sugars that energies you and than you crash. stay away from junk food like chips and chocolate if you really feel like a snack have something like pretzels and yogurt, and always chose the low fat option.stay away from fast food too, if you go to a fast food restaurant just ask for something healthy, like a salad with chicken or the grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bread with no fries.they now have a lot of healthy options now.and exercise on your bike as you are doing now and play sports like soccer or something that's really active, try jogging too. and don't forget drink lots of water, god luck i hope you lose weight because i grew up in school chubby and even fat and it's not fun so , stay healthy and don't do any fad diets just eat healthy and exercise.

Hi, maybe you should tell your mother that you simply want to ride your bike for fun. Engaging in a fun physical activity is a good thing for you to do! At your age, it's important not to diet because it is unhealthy for your growing body.

I suggest that you eat when you are hungry and that you try to eat good, wholesome foods like wheat bread, chicken, turkey, eggs, dairy products, vegetables, and fruit. If you fill up on the healthy foods, you won't have room as often for the unhealthy. You should definitely not worry about dieting. Eating only a banana for lunch is not enough food and does not provide all the nutrients you need to be healthy. Try going grocery shopping with your mom and pick out some fruits and vegetables that you like, along with some lunch meat, bread, and other foods that you think you'd like. Make yourself a sandwich with veggies and take some fruit for lunch. Also, it's totally fine to have a treat every now and then! Go outside, be active and try to eat good, healthy foods.

Remember always that you are beautiful the way you are. You're smart to want to be healthy, but it's not smart to focus only on your body or how much you weigh. You are much, much more than what you look like.

Well I have a 6 year old and when I ask him to do something, I then (and usually always) have to say. I've just asked you to do something, now I'm going to count to 5 and I expect you to do it. This works well. His teacher should come up with her own method, see if this works for you and pass it on to her if it does. You could try explaining that people don't pull their pants down and it can upset some people, so it's not really funny. Ask him to think of something else he can do that would be funny. Don't worry about drawing, maybe construction is more his thing. All little boys love making junk models with reels of sellotape and string. Tying string, cutting and making sellotape stick will help his fine motor skills. As will small lego or meccano sets.

So, your response to your mother should be, "I know, Mom. I'm not worried about my weight. I'm worried about my health."

At 10, I would agree with her, that you shouldn't be trying to lose weight...But being active is healthy, and she should encourage you to be getting regular exercise.

Please be cautious when you're trading up at lunch time. If you're giving away your sandwich, you actually be doing the wrong thing. You need to have protein, in order for your muscles to grow and work correctly (and more muscle mass will help to burn the fat off more quickly). You should work to eat a balanced diet, with reasonable serving sizes, and not something that eliminates the critical nutrients that you need for growth.
