Don't know about you, but my sharp pain anywhere is the missus digging me in the body for reasons unknown

I experienced something similar a few weeks ago (I am 30 weeks now) but I went to the doctor and it was a pulled muscle in my stomach. It was a sharp pain and then hurt for a couple days after but not too terrible. I guess the baby was pulling forward and I turned or something which caused it. It was better with muscle relaxers.

I can think of several causes so I would advise you to see a Doctor! It is the best thing to do as no-one not even a Doctor could diagnose a cause from such a description, and he will be able to examine the area and ask for more details.
It may be worth taking a urine sample with you as infection could be a possibility!

I used to get that all the time I was in agony with it ..I went to the doctor did urine tests etc but he couldn't find out what was wrong, I ended up on two courses of antibiotics which didn't do much good, it faded in the end but I still get it now and again.

If you are a girl, which I assume you are from your username, it could be pain associated with ovulation. Sometimes females can feel when their egg is being released because it does cause slight pain.

Is this just today or constant over few days?
Trapped gas can cause it. You may want to go see a doctor if it persists.

I am having the same problem for 3 months now, COULDNT STAND THE PAIN ANY LONGER so i went to see my doctor and she said i have acid and she gave me tablets called omeprazole to talk every night so now im waiting to see if the pain goes.there can be many reason for the pain so please go see your doctor and tell them your symtpoms.DONT GET STRESS AS IT MAKES THE PAIN WORSE!GOOD LUCK.

you could have an infection in the ureter.....the tract between the kidney and the bladder. take a urine sample to your doctor.
and dont take omeprazole as mentioned in one answer...it is for upper digestive tract problems such as reflux, acid indigestion or gastro intestinal ulcers.

You could just have pulled a muscle, or it may be a hernia. I don't think it will be appendicitus because it is on the wrong side
