Hi Riegan
Latter_rain276 has the best answer so far. We are all defined by our actions, not by our titles. I can call myself a witch and go out and walk up and down the street with a broomstick on my shoulder, but that doesn't make me Wiccan (no offense).
Likewise, there are many who will call themselves Christian (sometimes just as a social status symbol) yet have not taken the actions necessary to actually accept Christ. Those would be and acknowledgment of his divine nature, realization of our sinful mortality, repentance of our sins, ask and accept forgiveness and finally following the teachings of the Savior. It sounds to me like the person to whom you have referred has failed to fully commit to the Christian way.
In the end times we are told that there are "goats" among the "sheep". They will be cut from the herd. Many of them will be quite surprised, I'm sure.

We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. Through the unknown, remembered gate When the last of earth left to discover Is that which was the beginning; At the source of the longest river The voice of the hidden waterfall And the children in the apple-tree Not known, because not looked for But heard, half heard, in the stillness Between two waves of the sea. Quick now, here, now always- A condition of complete simplicity (costing not more than everything) And all shall be well and All manner of thing shall be well When the tongues of flame are in-folded Into the crowned knot of fire And the fire and the rose are one. Dear Riegan,
I understand your question but my answer is "how do we know a person who says they are a "christian" really is a christian? If you read Matthew 7:21-23, the Lord gives a picture of Judgment Day. Many (who thought they were saved) will be completely amazed as they stand before Christ on Judgment Day to be cast into hell.
That is why we should continue to search the Scriptures and examine ourselves whether we be in Christ (1 Corinthians 2:13).

There are Christians like other people who have problems.
I feel when a person makes negative or unkind comments about another's faith they reflect poorly on their own. That doesn't mean they cannot express their faith in a way that doesn't agree with another's faith.
A lot of people on this board need to look at what they say and how they state their answers.
Example. To call someone ignorant about my faith is smug. To say I know they disagree or they
might misunderstand some aspects of my faith puts it a little more kindly.

Every body wants to be right every time about
everything. We can read the Bible and lot of people will be
struck by something different from each other. We are told
to "Study to show thyself approved, a worker that needs not
be ashamed rightly dividing the word of Truth.

Do not know why they posted this question...but Christians do believe that self proclaimed Atheists are actually pawns of the evil one(Satan). This would explain the apparent contradiction.

I don't believe this is a fair question.
It appears to be biased and a little prejudiced.
Take the word "christian" out of the question and replace it with:
"blacks", "indians", "muslims", "jews", "women", "gays"
You might find yourself flooded with hate-mail if doing so.
Why is it more acceptable to generalize christians and not other sectors of the population?
It's just not right to me.
One should be judged (if any one of us is fit to do so righteously) by their own merit...not on the actions of others.
That is not to say that I agree with the original poster's question -

She's a troll who posts questions like that all the time. She them completes them with the condescending "love and blessings". Don't worry, nobody thinks she's a true representative of the majority of Christians.

Stock answer:
because they are not true Christians.
Pay no attention to the fact that all the Christians are not true Christians in the view of some other Christians.

Doesn't mean the person that asked that question is a true Christian.
There are people on here playing on one side or the other to see who they can rile up.
