My main dish is Polynesian Pork (pork with a glaze consiting of soy sause, liquid smoke, crushed pineapple, lemon and orange zest). I'm looking to find a good appetizer and desert to compliment the dish. I'm thinking I might use a type of Green salad and bread pudding, but it seems a tad plain. Does any one have any suggestions of how to spice those up, or a new idea that goes with this dish?

How about some pineapple flavored rice pilaf? Get your favorite boxed brand of rice pilaf and, instead of using plain water or chicken broth as the liquid, substitute pineapple juice instead. Add slivered almonds to the mix and some of the chopped pineapple (optional) as well as 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes for a little zing. The flavor will compliment your pork and give you a nice side dish.

I'd serve some kind of rice dish, pilaf maybe with the Polynesian Pork or perhaps something with sweet potatoes and Key Lime Pie for dessert.

I would make a spicy rice dish to compliment the sweet and savory of the pork and I loved the key lime pie idea!
