The New Thought movement (not to be confused with New Age), was founded by Phineous Parkhurst Quimby, over a century ago. The movement started in America, but the principles are universal: "There is one life, that life is God, that life is my life now." This is metaphysics.
New Thought seeks to find this principle in all teaching.
For me, the best writings in metaphysics/New Thought are:
The Science of Mind, by Ernest Holmes;
The Edinburg Lectures on Mental Science, by Thomas Troward...there's much more...

Thats Hard because each person has a New Experience of the Spirit now ; I Was on a Mountain top Once, at About 6:30 Am, at least I know it was between 6 and 7 am. I had started a Climb around 4 am with others in the dark. And the Hills in the Area undulated, so that on the Crest of the Hill, you could see mist alternating with a Hill going off into the Sunrise... it seemed infinite at the time of sunrise.
Thats what the Spirit of this new time feels like at times. Sounds crazy I guess, but its a beautiful feeling, and I loved that experience that happened about 23 years ago.

New thought believes that a God exists but that God is the creator force, the source of life, the universal consciousness and that we are all part of one mind, gods mind.
When we die we can reincarnate and strive for perfectionism with each incarnation until we reach it, (like Jesus did), or we can return to and merge with the source.
We believe in the principals of Quantum physics and evolution. Reality is not real but a game god is playing with experiencing life.
New Thought is more of a movement and not a religion, some peoples beliefs vary a little form others. There is no Orthodox standard.

The Unity church down the road from me is a New Thought church. The New Thought churches are churches like Christian Science, Unity, Religious Science and other denominations that believe in the power of affirmations and their healing effect upon the human body and mind.
