My husband and I are buying a puppy in a week but we just can't agree on a name. We are getting a female doberman pinscher puppy, she is black and tan. It has to be a name with a little beef to it my husband dosen't want a sissy name for her. Any suggestions?

I guess it's best you get the puppy first before thinking of a name. Currently, I have 6 dogs, I had the same problem of trying to get a name for my puppies, but whenever they come, they do come with their names.
I have my first dog(a pitbull), female, presently 9yrs of age, I was thinking of a name to give her, but due the dog's nature of appearing gentle, but quite aggressive, I named her Thatcher( after the former British prime minister); the last dog(a Labrador Retriever), about 2yrs old, I wanted to name him Hitler, due his stern appearance, but I ended up naming him Scarvenger! (Scar for short), this is because the dog eats virtually everything given to him!.Therefore, wait for the puppy to arrive, you'll never have a problem naming her!!

I have found out that when I named my dog she became like her name Trixie she is trickster . My suggestion is that you find a name like you want your dog to be like . My Dog had 8 puppies 5 weeks ago and I am going to keep one of them. I am working on naming the one I keep . My problem is trying to pick one to keep.
you can go on line and find lots of names , Just put in Puppy names in the search area. You may find just the right name that way . How about Penny.

Wait till you get her and see her personality. We called the one dog Zip and it fits. The other is Ivy as in poison ivy she was a pain for the first few weeks.
We have a cat named Grace for her lack of it.
Her name will come in a day or two.
