Wow. All I have to say is that I wish I had even the $50,000 to plan my ENTIRE wedding. I understand that you really like the dress ... but the question is do you LOVE it? I also don't think it is unfair or unreasonable for your mom to want to find one under $50,000. Have you looked into how much it costs to plan a wedding? My fiance and I are planning ours and doing it for as little as possible yet still having a very nice and upscale wedding. We are aiming for around $7,000 or less for EVERYTHING. Look into what it cost to plan the entire wedding and not just your dress. Then you might understand why your mom is looking to spend a little less on your dress. But once again, the main thing is, do you love that dress. If you don't love it, then why spend that much on it when you could find one that you love for a lot less. Take some time ... continue to look until you find the one that you can't live without. The one that makes you cry and you just know is the perfect dress ... not just one that you really like. It will make all the difference on your wedding day.

Are you serious?!?!? Do you realize how nice of a wedding you could have for just the price you're wanting to spend on the dress? You wear it for maybe 2 hours then it hangs in a closet, $50,000 is a lot of money to spend on a dress. I think you need to step back and rethink. The wedding is just one day the whole thing takes maybe 2 hours, it's the marriage that matters. Why not go for a less pricey dress, there are a lot of them and use the money you save on a down-payment on a house.

The truth? Hell no, except I could personally afford it(not to sound snobby, but I can), but most people can't. So it depends- can you afford a $100,000 dress? If you can afford it and it didn't break your bank then do it. And under $50,000 is NOT unreasonable a $40,000 dress is gonna be something amazing. Be happy your mom is buying it.
But you probably aren't even getting married, you just have nothing better to do than to post stupid questions on Yahoo judging by the rest of your questions.
Whatever, good luck. ;-)

I think you're being unfair and unreasonable and your mom is um, well, equally so. That is an incredible amount of money that you must be able to come up with at least 100,000 other ways to spend, no?
If you're hell-bent on spending that amount of money, buy a gown for $25,000...give the rest to your local food bank. And quit stomping your feet like a child, you're going to need a lot more compromise than that to make a marriage work...

If you are rich then this is chunk change and no it is not too much to spend on that marvelous wedding dress. This amount of money is unfair and unreasonable is your income do not warrant it or the intended spouse income, otherwise paying for that dress gonna take some time. Try rental for that amount of the dress and guess what? No expenses to tackle afterward.

If you can afford to be looking at dresses in that range then you buy what makes you happy. If your parents are paying - have some respect and find a dress in the range they want to spend that look good on you. How much better could a $100,000 dress look on the floor of the honeymoon suit than a $50 dollar one?

Hmm.. sounds like someone is a spoiled brat.. I spent $300 on mine and I loved it. I so amny compliments and everyone thought it was a designer dress.
$50,000 is too much money to spend on a wedding let alone a dress.
Oh wait - I just read your previous questions! Your a troll so you probably spend all day on your computer and dont have a boy friend just 30 cats rubbing up against your legs :)

I think your the one who is completely unreasonable. Marriage is not about the most expensive wedding party, or gown but, based on the "one" that your going to share your life with. Wearing a$100,000 gown is not going to help make you feel that way.....People tend to fall into the mischeifs of planning a wedding that they forget the important concept of why we want to become marry. I think no matter how much your gown will cost, your finance is going to love you the way you are.

If it's your money, spend whatever you want. If it's her money, she has the right to tell you how much you can spend. But you already knew that. So what are you really asking? Do you want to know how many people find it totally outrageous that you want to spend $100,000 on a wedding dress? My guess is quite a few.

Screen name says it all -- How about getting a (oh, what's that 3 letter word you are unfamiliar with ...) J O B !!!!!!
When you have to pay for the Dress and the Wedding out of your earnings .. then do what you want. You are VERY BLESSED to have a LIVING MOTHER that puts up with the Attitude at this time!
