First of all Love has nothing to do w/ how many carats are in the ring. If you really loved him you would love your ring no matter what. Have you ever took the time to think that maybe he didn't have the money for a 3 carat ring, or maybe he's planning on using that money for the honeymoon or something else that is a little more important, like keeping a roof over your head or being able to put food on your table. I mean for crying out loud grow up.

If you are this particular about a ring, I'd hate to see what other things you expect to be better and better...let's see....car, house..hmmm.....

You should either be appreciative of his proposal and the fact that he loves you, or if the ring size is really that important, don't marry him. Personally I think the size/carat of a ring is superficial and material, but you've set your own standards apparently.

If you asked the jeweler for this and paid for 3 carats, then yes.

Sounds like you care more about the diamond then you do about your fiancee. If you're not happy with it, tell him, but he'll probably tell you to find another groom too! Do you even know how expensive a 3 carat diamond is??? How shallow of you.

It may be that your fiance feels that the boat he is buying with the left-over cash will be fun for the BOTH of you; he sounds like a prudent, bargain-hunter, and I believe that the two of you are just right for each other!

I see a VERY happy marriage ahead for the two of you, as you make your demands, and he delivers exactly one half of what you wanted, and keeps the other half for something for the two of you (like hunting gear, season tickets to the Bears games, an ATV, the new MLB satellite-tv package, etc)!

Good luck!

Why not demand a new fiance? The ring is is supposed to be a symbol of commitment and love. The existing one sounds like a large symbol already. Either your question indicates a wicked sense of humor or it's a signal that your engagement is on shaky ground already.

You sound greety [no effence] or anything
It's not about the ring, it's if you love the person. It doesn't matter. If you think a ring is more important than the love of your life, and your going to demand a new one, then obviously you don't love that person for who he is!!!!!!!!!!!
PS...If you will demand a new one, then don't be surprised when you won't have a ring OR a feance!!

Thats just greedy. You should be happy that you even got one with that additude. I didnt know girls actually told the guy what they wanted, atleast I didnt (but then again i got a 4.5 carat) But i think your just being greedy and want to show off. I think you should be happy with what you got. Maybe thats what he could afford.
