I am about to undergo surgery to remove my upper teeth and have implants installed. I was wondering if anyone knows what the cost for the permanant teeth that will attach to the implant once the healing is completed have cost. Is it the same as a regular crown or is it less costly?

Actually the crowns that are placed on top of your implants are usually a little more expensive due to the fact that they are made of more material than regular crowns. If I were you I would def. find out how much they are going to cost before you have all of your perm. maxillary teeth removed. You may have what is called an overdenture placed on top of your implants. You need to give more information, like how many implants are you going to have placed? Will you have individual crowns placed, or an over denture?

You have to have the crowns to go on top of the dental implants. You are looking at about 1000 to 2000 grand a piece for the implants and about 1200 give or take for the crowns. That adds up to a lot of money. They are worth if though if you have the bucks. To break it down for you I have two implants (tooth #'s two and twenty) with the oral surgeon that placed them, and then the crowns I paid about five grand which includes my dental discount. I got fifty percent off for the implants, and ten percent off for the crowns. Most insurances will not cover implants and the crowns that go on top of them but it is the best thing I have ever done. Of course you have to have certain criteria before they can place the implants like smoking history, home care, bone levels etc. They are worth it if you can afford them.

My experience has been, it is exactly the same. I was just invoiced $ 2, 400.00, for two teeth, or two crowns. Once the implants are in, the procedure is essentially the same as any other crown.
