It seems to me that many people think:

1)That I worship a gold statue of a fat bald guy...
2) That I don't have a church full of friends to turn to...
3) That my religion promotes marijuana use and is a good excuse not to have any rules or restrictions...

What are the top 3 misconceptions about YOUR religion?

This is great - because you can tell what religion everyone is just by the misconceptions that people commonly have about them...

1) We don't worship J*sus because we just want to be stubborn/piss the Xtians off
(There are REASONS people)

2) That we're all rich and control the media (I don't know about you, but Oprah calls me every time she wants to do a new show)

3) That we think we're the best people on earth and only we go to heaven
(actually, our Tanakh says the exact opposite)

1. That we worship Mary.

2. That confess to a Priest instead of Through the Priest to God.

3. That we worship the Pope.

My religion is Catholicism. Misconceptions include:

1) That we worship someone or something other than God.
2) That we think Mary wasn't saved from sin by God.
3) That we don't accept Jesus Christ as our savior.

i'm an Eclectic Pagan, so misconceptions abound... #a million... i'm a neo-pagan, yet not neccessarily a Wiccan. #2... i don't worship devil. #3... i don't "scouse borrow" my non secular practices from different faiths. as a replace, I respectfully borrow particularly some the failings that artwork. #4... i'm not a hippie. #5... I do stick to a ethical code, regardless of if it is not a strict doctrine interior of my non secular practices. #6... i don't would desire to define myself as a strict monotheist, dualtheist, pantheist, or polytheist, etc. it fairly is all i will think of of, fairly.

They think I have a religion, that's probably the biggest misconception.

Besides that they think we are a group, which is also kinda silly. Atheists are people who chose not to follow the fairy tales invented by others. We also don't believe in Smurfs, but nobody has ever called me asmurfist.
