The best way to lose weight is through cardio. So if you have any way to run or jog for even 30-45 minutes a day. Also, sit-ups are very important if you don't want to end up w/ the pouch. I too was a stay at home mom and I did 50 situps a day (only takes like 10 minutes!) and I bought a Pilates DVD and would do them whenever my baby was asleep or I could squeeze in the time. Pilates helped me to lose alot of weight. Also, substitute water for soda, you'd be surprised how many calories add up if you drink soda all day. Good luck!

I feel ya on that one. I was 180lbs when i delivered, and was down to 130 by the time he was six months old. I breastfed, which they say is great for boosting the metabolism. I also purchased an exercise video, which i was able to do while my little one was napping, or i could place him in his swing and let him watch. The video was made by the ppl that made "The biggest loser" tv show, and i loved it! The ppl weren't skinny little bimbos...they were real ppl. And the trainer was nice to look at...it kept me motivated. :) anyway, i did that about three times a week. In addition to that i went to a 1200 calorie diet, which wasn't all that bad. I would eat 1 fat serving, 1 milk, 3 veggie servings, 3 fruit servings, 4 meat servings, and 4 starches. I was eating constantly on this diet, and it worked!!!! It follows the same guide lines as LA weight loss w/o spending 300$ to join. Just remember: it took you nine months to gain it, so it's ok if it takes that long for you to lose it! Good luck!

Since Jan I lost 32 lbs of baby weight. I only recently started at the gym. Most of the weight came off doing a low cal diet. I am eating about 1400 cals a day. 3 meals, 2-3 snacks. It turns out that by my eating better, my 11 month old is also eating better! Bonus! As long as you can get to the store, and buy healthy foods, you can do it too.
Good luck!!!

If you have stairs, use them to your advantage. I walk up and down mine at least 50 times a day. Cleaning your house burns up calories, also while you are doing dishes tighten those buns. I try to get out with my kids for a walk at least three-four times a week. Our weather is either extremely hot here or rainy; sometimes just plain unpredictable. So, certainly take advantage of nice weather. If you can afford a treadmill, walking for thirty minutes is very heart healthy and will work those legs. If you can't find a block of time, try doing it in intervals, such as ten minutes here, ten minutes there and so on.
Hope this helps!!

Get an excercise bike or one of those eliptical machines. The Tony Little one works pretty well and it's only like $100. Stay away from sugar. And if it's nice outside, go outside. Go for a jog, walk, bike ride...

Limit those carbs. Its difficult, but when you deprive your body of carbs it will have no choice but to burn fat to create energy.
Then get protein rich foods. meat, eggs.
eat 5 times a day, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and don't eat after 6 or 7pm.
For your snacks try to stay below 200 calories, go for low sugar fruits like blueberries and other "berries" because they are low in sugar.
You can also try protein bars for snacks, the Special k chocolate peanut butter are good and they are 10g of protein for 190 calories.
I make protein shakes in the morning or have an omelet and bacon, but no bread.
For lunch I have turkey chili with no beans, chopped salad with chicken, turkey burger with one slice of whole wheat bread, or sourdough or pumpernickel. WHOLE GRAINS.
For dinner make chicken, turkey, fish, beef dishes, lots of green veg.
If you stay away from bread, rice, potato-type products and packaged foods- you'll shed pounds. Give it a try for one week.
Look up the glycemic index and use that for a guide as to which foods cause your blood sugar to spike and which don't.
Try to walk, even if its just 10 minutes a day, then try 10 minutes twice a day...

Get yourself a good workout video and some weights.
All Crunch videos are great, Billy Banks is also great. Just exercise every day and it'll come off. Get yourself videos that say they're for fat loss.

Keep this meal between 400 and 600 calories. Serve yourself a smaller sized portion, so if you like heading back for seconds, you'll just wind up eating a normal-size portion.

Take the baby for walks in the stroller. Just make an efffort to go every day.
Look up stroller strides on line and see if they have a group near you, so you can walk w/other moms.
