It is the day Jesus showed his goodness towards us by allowing himself to be sacrificed on our behalf.

Ok, first lets straighten out the day of Christs' Death & Burial! IT WAS NOT FRIDAY!!!! Scripture says "On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene Came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw the stone already taken away from the tomb." For the Jews, the first day of the week is Sunday and they have a "Day of Preperation" for the Sabath (when no work can be done) which is Friday. So counting backwards 3 days & 3 nights we come to Thursday as Christs' day of Death & Burial. Good Friday comes out of the Dogma of the Catholic Church of which this is just one of many errors they permit to continue. John

Because that wasn't the end of the story. The death of Jesus on the cross was the beginning of the redemption of all who would believe. The Bible says that "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins" and that Jesus was the final sacrifice "once and for all." Without "Good Friday, " there would be no "Resurrection Sunday." That's what's so "good" about "Good Friday."

Why is Good Friday referred to as “good”? What the Jewish authorities and Romans did to Jesus was definitely not good (see Matthew chapters 26-27). However, the results of Christ’s death are very good! Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” 1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”

Just goes to show what gullible nutters the religious maniacs are...
look at them all trying to find a reason to claim that the day is "good"
you dimwits...it's nothing to do with the word "good"... Its a corruption of "God's Friday"
just the same as when we say "goodbye" it's a corruption of "God be with you".
Go and read your own superstitious books properly in future.

Because of course he couldn't be resurrected without dying first. So it was actually good he died because that was the price of salvation--we are saved through the Blood of Jesus spilled for us. He was the righteous sacrifice for sinners, like the innocent lambs in the Temple.
There is no remission of sins without shedding blood....that means His blood. God himself in Jesus paid our price.
All we have to do is accept it, accept Him. That's all, a verbal out-loud acceptance. And yet to so many people it's just too much to ask. I don't know why.
It works for me.

Its not clear. Maybe its a corruption of "God's Friday", or maybe because it was a fulfillment of a prophesy to redeem mankind. Many places call the day by other names, - Easter Friday, Holy Friday, Great Friday, ect.

what about all the others who were crucified on the cross.you dont get a mention of their poor souls by the so called religious people or the church.i suppose in the eyes of the jews it was a good day.they chose barrabas,a fighting man.not a carpenter who turns the other cheek.hence,it was a good friday for them.

God sent us his only son and we slaughtered him. He gave his life so that we could be saved and God resurrected him on the third day. I think that we were supposed to learn a lesson of forgiveness from that and follow the ten commandments which is not a bad way to live.
In answer to your question good came from his death.

Oh, it is Good Friday alright. If Jesus hadn't have gone to the Cross for us, WE WOULD ALL BE DEAD IN SIN AND BOUND FOR HELL STILL. But He went to the Cross and saved us by taking our sins on Himself and pardoning our sins. To receive eternal life all we need to do is believe on Him and we can escape the fires of hell.
