i'd say its okay to use different ones although they do say use them together, this is just a selling technique. i use a colour protect shampoo but just a daily light conditioner cos if i used the matching one my hair would be too greasy.

It's more important to have two different brands of shampoo and conditioner that you change about every month. Chemical build up happens, then you switch or get bad hair. Don't switch too often, but once every 3 or 4 weeks would be good.

i think that anyuthing is fine. i change my shampoo and conditioner when they run out. i dont like using the same thing all the time, so whenever i need more i get a different type. just make sure that the shampoo and conditioner match and that the shampoos dont dry out ur hair. :)

It doesn't matter. Shampoo and conditioner of any brand contain totally different ingredients anyway. There is no special synergy to using both of the same brand except that the scent might be compatible.

You can try Pantene shampoo and conditioner that come together in one bottle. If that doesn't do it for you, pick the products you like. They don't have to be the same brand.

It's okay to mix and match brands to get the results you want.
Use a clarifying shampoo every once in a while to remove product build up. My favorite is Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo.

different types are okay, just don't change to often because it can damage your hair. so if you use VO5 shampoo and suave conditioner stay with that combo for a few months before you switch or it can cause damage.

If you use the same brand, they work together as a system to deliver the results that you want. But, if you use different brands its fine, your hair just might not be as nice as if you used the same. I've always used the same and my hair gets exactly the way I want it, but my mom uses different brands and hers is also good.

The bottles just tell you to use the same brand just so they make more money. You can use different brands, I do.
