Hello TheMadH,
My name is Ron Noga and I'm going to call you TMH since I don't know your real name, I hope that's okay with you?
TMH, Jesus' love is perfect love coming from a perfect Divinity, so we as human beings not being perfect cannot give totally perfect love.
Now that being said, we are to try and walk in the foot steps of Jesus while we're here on earth. If any of us are praticing Christians we should love Jesus with all our mind with all our heart and with all our soul.
We beleive in Jesus that's Great, now we say we have faith, faith that Jesus did and will do everything He said while here on earth, that's good, now should we preach like Jesus did hear on earth? Sure we should, and even use words if necessary.
TMH, it's HOW we live our life while we're here on earth not just saying I beleive in Jesus. If you beleive in Jesus then walk the walk and not just talk the talk.
TMH, I'd like you to go to www.catholichelpers.org and go to the Confession page, if you decide to do this please do it with no TV on, Radio, or any other noise, this time is just for you and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Say the prayer to the Holy Spirit before the examination of conscience, go through the examination of conscience and see where you might have fallen short in walking the walk with Jesus. For now since your on a computer ask God the Father to forgive you for the sins you have comitted which kept you from following Jesus with every part of your being. Also everyone has had people in their life who hurt them in some way, these people either know they hurt you or maybe they truly don't, but forgive them all, truly from your heart and soul. In the same way ask forgiveness from all who you might have hurt knowingly or not.
TMH, your now as close to walking the walk of Jesus as you have ever been in your life, congrats! Now the love God has just shown you deep inside, you'll feel it. Now for you to show Jesus's love to everyone else continue to live the life of Jesus here while your on earth, you won't do it exactly like Him, your not perfect but will the people all around you start noticing a difference in you, that difference is you showing the love of Jesus to all of them.
Hope I could Help You
God Bless You TMH
Ron

It sounds to me like you and your Wife are more interested in "being right" and "winning" than in working together and forging a loving relationship. Until you both change your focus, you are in for a long, hard haul. That verse means that none of us are perfect (including you) and that Christ loved us all anyway, enough to die for us. That means that we should love others in the same way. It doesn't mean be stupid and let others walk all over us. Even Christ set boundaries. When he needed time alone, he took it, and he didn't apologize for it. Your wife is judging you by telling you God isn't pleased for how you feel about your family. She probably doesn't realize it, and is probably trying to help, because she probably feels you would be happier if you had a good relationship with your family. Next time she brings it up, tell her, "That is between me and God" and let it be. Please also remind your wife that the other half of Christ's teaching on this subject is that women should respect their husbands. I'm sure you know the verse. Telling your husband he's a horrible person is not respecting him. You can change your heart by praying and asking God to give you the kind of heart He would want you to have. Please find a good licensed Christian counselor to talk with, and if your wife will go too, that's all the better. In the end, while I believe marriage is sacred and should not be abandoned lightly, God knows that we're just human and many people have divorced before you, and many will after. The consequences of divorce are never easy and you will have to live with them if you make that decision, but God will not abandon you because of it.

I don't try too hard. I keep things simple.
I show it by not freaking out when a 70-year-old woman goes 15 mph in a 55mph zone.
I show compassion to those who have less than I do.
I don't play the "my car is better than your car" game.
I despise gossip.
I show my friends/family/strangers the same amount of respect.
I don't "try" just to prove others wrong.
I try to show others love by not donating to their needs, but by just listening.
I give a waitress the extra tip when I see shes had a bad day.
Just because someone has wronged me, doesn't mean I try to wrong them.
And I wish and pray that everyone has the opportunity to experience all they can.

Starting with the fact that love is a verb, not an emotion, Christ-like love is behaving lovingly towards people regardless of who they are or what they do. You can achieve this towards others by studying how he loved people; he provided food for people he didn't know, he wept with people who were sad, and prayed for enemies. Apply his actions to your own life.
Best of luck to you - good question :-)

you receive it honey. You go to God with a bow down heart and say Lord create in me a new, clean heart, and renew the right spirit within me. Lord I accept you as Lord and I accept you into my life and my heart. I am a sinner and I repent of all sin I've commited and I know by grace and your love, you'll throw it into the sea of forgetfulness. And now God I need your love and all your greace and mercy raining down on me, because I'm lost without you. Honey if and when you pray this prayer the power of God will lift you and pick you up out of this wicked wordl and put a love in and on you you can't even describe. Be blessed, and welcome into the Kingdom of God!

I think that I Corinthians 13 "The Love Chapter" is a great explanation of what Christ-like love is all about.

the term you seek is "agapae" in leymans terms it means an enduring, undying devotion to all other people. there is not a simple way to achieve this, my walk with Christ has taught me more than once that there is always room for improvement. be that as it may I try to treat others the how I would like tem to be treated, though not an easy task.

The best example is in the bible, 1Corin chapter 13. I don't think it's humanly possible to show this kind of love all the time. At least, I can't accomplish it.
