Hmm, I wanted to post this in the science section, but for some reason Yahoo! suggested the religious category. Odd.

Hello, Markyyy:

Not on this planet now...not at this time. But God was before Moses at Mt. Sinai in a burning bush that would not extenguish.

The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 6:16: "Lord of lords; WHO ONLY HAS IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and power everlasting.

When you study biblically the things on this planet, they are only transient--very temporary--but that was not God's original plan.

This planet was unplugged from eternity when man sinned because God can not IMMORTALIZE sin--it is foreign to His universe, and there is no excuse for transgression. The peace of Heaven would be in jeaporody if it was allowed.

Our planet and galaxy is wearing out like a old garmet. Paul tells us in Romans 8:22 "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now."

When Jesus died to redeem us, and regained the title Adam lost through transgression, all God's promises are now possible, and even though we may die, the resurrection is coming when all will face their maker.

Won't go into too much detail here, because some people do not even read their answers, but the plan and timing of the great conflict between Good and evil, as well as numerical proof that Jesus is the Messiah, is revealed when you use a secret 'key" to unlock the only part of the Bible closed until "the end of the days." Assuming Newtonian physics, the answer is that depends.

Matter is neither created nor destroyed, it merely changes form. Energy is an alternative form of matter. When a substance burns (forcefully, rapidly combines with oxygen), a small amount of the substance is converted to energy in the form of heat and light. If you were able to trap this and reconvert it and somehow reassemble the original substance from the resultant products, then it could be "reburned." This, as you might imagine, would be problematic.

The "burn forever and ever and ever" phrase is probably what caused the filter to suggest religion since there is the Christian doctrine of hell which is described as burning forever. As mentioned above, outside of some intervention, and God certainly qualifies as a suitably powerful intervener especially since He is the author of the laws of physics, substances don't burn forever. Then again, who said that hell has to be confined to THIS universe, especially since the scripture teaches that it will perish?

Magnesium will burn forever until it runs out of material to burn.

Obviously since this wound up in the religion category, souls in hell burn forever.

According to christians, a soul can.... but that's hardly a "material."

You know... You don't have to post where yahoo suggests. You can choose to post in another category.

No. There is, however, radioactive decay that lasts a very long time. The Sun is a similar process.

In a religious aspect, there is no hell except death because the very process of relating fire and pain to one's eternal punishment would be anti-merciful.
