I would likely gather a group to employ the same tactics as the insurgents in Iraq. The whole world has seen it works very well.

That's why the NRA has been screaming about the anti-gun lobbyists and citizens that are not military or the police to be able to defend themselves, their families and property! It makes good sense not to ban guns of leagl, law abiding citizens. Every dictatorship, before taking over nations disarmed the citizens first, making complete control easy. (Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Jim Jones)That's the Fourth amendment folks! That's why it was written into this valuable document. The Minutemen of the Colonial Army and the Militias....the British would pillage, kill the early colonialists. People should see the movie Red Dawn, it could happen! Check out the Bay City, MI Police Department.. OPEN BORDERS? NO THANKS!

Have you seen the movie Red Dawn?
If the US was invaded, there are lots of citizen who would not leave it to the National Guard or the other Armed Forces, but would take up arms to repel the enemy.
Any other nation that does the same (Iraq for example) should be admired for doing what any red-blooded American would do.
If Iran really is trying to build nuclear weapons, you can be assured they are doing so because they precieve the West as a threat - and who can say they are wrong in light of recent history.

So everyone is saying they would become "insurgents" who would, according to our own Attorney General, NOT be covered by the Geneva Conventions. If captured you could be held in a secret location and tortured indefinately, then put before a military tribunal and executed along with your family.
We don't need an enemy, the Patriot Act and Facists in Washington have already given us all that.

Every day, the bombs go off, the terrorists check our weakness, the terrorists teach at our schools, the terrorist convince the liberal politicians to enact laws that weaken our freedom!!

Depends, did we do something to deserve it like trying to take over the free world? Or kill everyone that doesn't believe the same as us?
I would follow the rules they set up to get them satisfied and wait for them to withdraw. If they had a past history of doing that.
If they had a history of staying for decades I would resist with all I had.

If I lived in a country without any freedoms, under the control of a dictator and his sadistic sons where my government was killing its own people....I say let the occupation begin. How much worse could it be?
Oh, by the way....I spent 18 months in Iraq.

Well..
All of the people bitching about the war right now would be "collaborating" with the enemy most likely.
and..
All of the people that are currently fighting the war right now would be fighting to regain our homes.
Think about that when making your analogy.
You should probley also think about this when bitching about the 2nd Amendment. We have the right to bare arms for this very reason, short sighted people dont see this. In most countries you do not have the right to bare arms, hence they are easily occupied.
Military reasons aside it would be extemely difficult to occupy the US because most of the population does own firearms.

Not blow up my neighbors to make a point to the invaders.
Also, if they honestly said "Stop blowing each other up, get back on your feet politically and economically, we'll help pay for it then leave"... I'd give serious thought to playing along and then see what it's like afterward.
But that's me and I'm not so irrational about things like that.

If my city or country was being "attacked" by radical elements within my own community, or by people who where being funneled in from and trained in a neigboring country, I would be allegiant to the most honest stabilizing force I could rely on to eliminate the hostile elements and rebuild my community.
