Frankly, I don't understand your answer "Esther." We Latter Day Saints read the Bible just as much as we read the Book of Mormon. So your little bank analogy doesn't fly very well, does it? Why must others tear down something that strengthens someone else when they clearly know nothing about it?

We believe in one Christ and that is it. He is the one who will save us through His sacrifice. He is the one who will have mercy upon people like me who can't seem to stay on the straight and narrow path no matter how hard I try. The only comfort that I can take when reading such meanness as I see here is that I'm glad that I don't have the job the Savior does, because I surely don't have enough mercy and understanding.

OK. First of all, you need to learn how to ask intelligent and well thought out questions. Latter Day Saints do not believe in 2 Jesus'. Honestly, research things before you go and make yourself look like an idiot. We do not have 2 bibles, we have the Holy Bible, which we read and study, and we also have The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon does not contradict the Bible's teachings, but goes hand in hand with them. It is comical to me how many people seem to know what the Book is all about without even reading it. Gossip can be fun, but hurtful as well. If you want an intelligent answer, ask an intelligent question. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that He died for our sins. We do not worship Joseph Smith, as he was a prophet, and we do not worship prophets. If you really want to know what Latter Day Saints believe in, please do some honest research.
Lynda V. . ..you need to read the Book of Mormon before you can go around saying that it contradicts the bible.

You are correct, there is only one and He is the same for Latter-day Saints as for the rest of the Christian world. The Christian notion that we don't worship the same Jesus as they do is false. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. That is the first article of faith and states clearly for all to know that we acknowledge the Godhead as do all Christians. Where we differ is in the interpretation of their nature, status, authorities and Eternal glories. If anyone wants to sit down and truly discuss the points of doctrine, I think they will find many more commonalities than differences. There is no conflict in who Jesus is or that He is our Savior.

There aren't two, unless "the Jesus" that non-LDS CHristians believe in is not the Jesus of the Bible. And sometimes, I believe this is the case, if THEY say that "their Jesus" is different from "our Jesus".

Because "their Jesus" is the Jesus of the creeds, not the Jesus of hte Bible.

From the official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints:

"Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was the Creator, He is our Savior, and He will be our Judge.

Under the direction of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ created the earth (John 1:10; Hebrews 1:2).

When Jesus lived on the earth (approximately 2,000 years ago), He led a perfect life. He taught by word and example how people should live in love of God and others.

Through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and by giving His life on the cross—that is, by performing the Atonement—Jesus Christ saves us from our sins (1 Peter 2:21) as we follow Him. Because of the Atonement, you can be forgiven of your sins when you sincerely repent (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 26:30).

Through His Resurrection, Jesus Christ saved us from death. Because He overcame death, we will all be given the gift of resurrection (Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:22). When life on this earth is over, Jesus Christ will be the final Judge (Acts 17:31; John 5:21–22; Acts 10:42). "

There is no 'other Jesus'. Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? Ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any. Although this scripture is usually used to stir up contentions, I see it as an answer. The 'other Jesus' argument is nothing but a hurtful myth which is not sanctioned by God.

Have you ever had a Mormon missionary ask you if you wanted to a God?

The Jehova's Witnesses have a problem with the Bible in that where it does not agree with what they believe, they change it and still call it the Original KJV.

To find out the truth about the Mormons, you have to read their sordid history. Prophets are "appointed" by God, not chosen by the senior elders in the church.

Jesus Himself warned that people would preach false gospels and that there would be false "Christs" and not to follow them. Paul wrote in Galatians 1:8 and 9 that there would be false gospels. The bible warns of those who would preach falsely, that's why one has to know scripture, to look out for those things that are not of God.

Islam also has a false Christ. Their Jesus is merely a prophet; He did not die on the cross and is not the only way to salvation.

Do you know how bank tellers tell fake money? They handle real money alot. That is how they are trained to see and know what is false. If we know the bible, and have the spirit of God through being born again in His son, we will be able to hear a false gospel when it's presented to us.

If you have been 'mormonized' , you believe Jesus is 'a god' as reinterpretated in John 1:1.

It's a cream-cheese version of the Bible mixed up by Joey "ladies' man' Smith.

My personal opinion is tat LDS has taught things that are not within typical/conventional Christian theology. For instance that a person can attain the same status as Jesus.....

To me although they are basically good people they are being sold more than what the Bible teaches.... And the Bible should not be contradicted..... which is what the Book of Mormon does, contradict...
