Cats shed their fur twice a year: in the spring (to et rid of the thick under fur of winter) and in the autumn (to make room for the thick underfur they need for the winter). To minimize the amount of fur lying around your house, BRUSH your cat everyday. If your cat is long-haired, a wire brush is the appropriate tool. If short-haired, the softer plastic bristles will do. But you need to brush, brush, brush and clean out the brush after every grooming session. You may need to take Claritin during the season.

He's shedding because "nature" knows warm weather is right around the corner. All cats shed some fur when the weather gets warmer so they are at least a little cooler. They don't need their "winter coats" in warmer weather. Don't worry, the cat will be fine. Maybe you can get some allergy medicine that will help you get through this...Also, you can brush him daily & that also helps keep the fur from flying around in the air. They also enjoy being brushed!

The cat is probably just loosing its winter coat. If the cat is just a year old then he probably didn't shed last year because its fur was still growing. My sister's cats are shedding hair like crazy right now also.

your cat is sheding because it is getting warm out and it's
hair was probably shorter then so the only way the cat can get rid of the extra warmth in her fur is by sheding and
the cat is probably just loosing its winter coat if the cat is just a year old then it probably didn't shed last year because its fur was still growing and now it will shed so that the heat is not so intense for the cat

as cat's emerge as older they begin to shed plenty extra and even for the primary time ever, this is not dangerous in any respect it exhibit's indicators of a healthful, powerful cat simply dropping it is hair considering that it has healthful powerful hair coming by way of!:)

All cats shed their winter coat this time of year. Nothing you can do but brush him daily and get some antihistimine for yourself.

take it to the groomer to have it deshedded and make sure you buy a brush to keep it nice and soft between groomings

to the person above: groomers do not cut cat fur, unless it is severly matted, they brush them out and remove all the dead and loose fur

You can take him to a pet groomer and have his hair cut. It sounds funny but I know people who do this because they are allergic to the dander.

Good Luck!

Brush, brush, brush...
If you are allergic to cats, Singulair is great, ask your doctor...
