My cousin runs an exotic bird rescue and has asked me if I would be willing to take in huskies and pitbulls that people ask if she can take. My question is a thing of price..I know I got the food covered. I can take pups in right now and I can take adults in once we move to more land and get settled in..I was wondering how much would a vet visit be for shots, deworming, and a spay or nuetering? I also can get the shots myself and can give those and the deworming. Would i be able to take the animals to a spay/nueter clinic and get the procedure done if I do those myself?

Nice to see someone thinking ahead financially for once!

The quickest and most effective way of getting prices is phoning vets in your area for quotes - they all have standardised prices for these routine procedures and can tell you in a second. Prices vary quite a bit from practice to practice, so unless you get an answer from the actual vets in yor area....I'd just phone them. In England, b itch spays vary from about £90 to £300 for the same sized dogs!

well, I've had my dogs 7 months and so far I'm approaching the $5000 mark

my friend has huskies, though, and I'm sure he spends less than I do. My dogs have had a few medical issues (but that probably accounts for about $700)

Also, know that a husky should never be allowed to roam without a fence or a leash they WILL run away. Also, they will likely jump over or dig under a fence just because they can.... they're crazy!

i don't have a domestic dog and have not in years so the age for rabies vac. I have not have been given any thought. you are able to call around to distinctive vets and ask. while you're fairly traumatic regarding the shield call them and enable them to renowned what you have been instructed and what place of work instructed you this. additionally enable them to renowned the photos you have already gotten. you additionally can enable the vet understand which you particularly want evidence for the shield, they might bypass forward and supply it to him at 4 months. in the previous week there has been 3 shown rabies in my section (city I stay in an the neighboring city). So the place I stay i'm guessing it is going to likely be a particularly tough 300 and sixty 5 days here.

the best thing to do is call around.. some vets will do some pro-bono work on strays and stuff... also call like the humane society and stuff... i know the ones down here in florida do like a free spay and neuter once every couple months. If you go to drsfostersmith.com they sell some shots that you can give to the animals yourself... but i would really reccomend having a trained professional do it... one little screw up could cost an animal their life... you also have to think about the ones that are allergic to the vaccines... its helpful to have a professional on your side.

If you have to question the cost...you cannot afford it. No short cuts when it comes to the animals. You were thinking of spaying, neuturing the animals yourself? Not a good idea.
