This question was just brought up at work, and it made me think. One of my co-workers is a faithful member of a church, and stated that she watches Creflo Dollar (not sure if thats spelled correctly) just as faithfully as she goes to church. Another Christian co-worker began to tell her that she should only seek church leadership from one source and not both. He stated that it was like being a member of two churches. What are your views on this topic?

The answer is "yes," it is perfectly okay for a Christian to watch the televised ministries and attend church. We attend church to come to God's house and worship him and be spiritually recharged and grow. You can actually add to this experience by reading Christian books, and watching televangelists. ***As long as the material you read, listen to, or watch coincides with the word of God, you are improving the fabric of your relationship with God through Christ. Do not be deceived. These days, people confuse church membership, good deeds, and slew of other behaviors as substitutes for salvation through a relationship with Christ. Jesus said, "I am the way..." and there is no other. You should, however, plant yourself at one GOOD church that preaches the word of God and no opinions outside of that. Going from church to church is not favored. Plant yourself in one good place so you can grow and develop roots.

Nothing wrong with that. All of us Christians are the 'Body of Christ'. For them to say that she should only seek church leadership from one source, is like a cult. Cults believe that they are the only source. Aren't there other churches out there that believe the same "Holy Bible" truth as others? Of course. The Bible IS the source.

Is it wrong, then, for a student to read his textbook at home? That is ridiculous. If you are a true Christian, the word of God reaches you in many ways. It will never hurt to supplement the word of God. Even if those televangelists on TV are cheesy, and sometime fake-looking, they are speaking the WORD OF GOD... Now if all of a sudden, the televangelist says "I am GOD," then --- there's a problem =D

Someone who is that much addicted to religion is not certain of their faith or the judgement that they used in making the decision to be Christian.

As for Creflo Dollar, he is as crooked as a hound's hind leg

I think that the person is wanting to learn as much about God as possible, so they are getting sermons all of the time. As long as she is not being offensive in her beliefs, I don't see it as doing anything wrong. After all, there are a lot of worse things on TV she could be watching instead.

So long as her mind is stayed on the Lord; The Lord has many disciples; the trick is finding out who is of his flock if I may say so; To me I don't see nothing wrong with watching televangelists on tv, but the bible says that when in doubt, test the spirits so you can know the truth.

I think that if she wants to watch televangelists, she is free to do so. I think that her religious state is between her and her creator - not her co-worker.

Why would it matter? Watching an evengelist on TV does not make you a member of their church. It makes them entertainment.

I think everybody should watch the Benny Hinn show because it's the funniest show on TV.

There's nothing wrong with watching the others to supplement what you are learning. Usually people who say that are threatened by other preachers.
