yep, they also have toothpaste with baking soda in it and i'm sure it tastes better than just baking soda

Yes, it's perfectly safe. It's a very mild abrasive, which means it cleans and scrubs very well but won't damage the enamel or anything. It's touted by almost all dentists to be the best way to clean teeth.

I guess so. Try going to your nearest drug store. Buy Arm and Hammer baking soda chewing gum. It worked for me! Use the instructions on the box for use.

I don't know about making your teeth whiter, but people did that before toothpaste was invented.
