The Bible makes it quite clear that "god" is an uber-sexist at the very least. Ever wonder why every important religious figure in Christianity is male, with the exceptions being the wives and mothers of important males? There are no female writings in the bible, no female priests or popes, and in the bible women are constantly referred to and considered property and minimally important. Any Christian woman who believes their god doesn't promote sexism is in denial.

I'm in favor of women of all varieties -- including the ones in the Bible.

The Godly women were an extraordinary bunch! They were used in remarkable ways by God! Take Sarah for instance, she was well past childbearing age when God used her to be the mother of a great nation! Take Esther who had remarkable courage that helped save her people from destruction! Take the story of Ruth and Naomi, a story that teaches us about real love and devotion! The list goes on and on! They are role models for all women no matter what generation we live in! Mary, the mother of Christ was obedient and a willing servant of the Lord and to this day is called blessed! God bless you! Good question!

For all who are saying that God is sexist, God elevated the status of women in ancient times. It is true that populations in general tended to lower their status, sometimes even to that of cattle! However, God instituted laws that regulated and protected women way before we ever had women's rights!
Jesus loved women and gave them the privilege of seeing his resurrected body first! In Jewish Biblical history, we see all kinds of remarkable "firsts" for women. Men were told to love their wives in the NT like they love their own bodies! God loves His daughters as well as his sons!

I have several favorites. A lot of them were so strong. There are some wonderful studies out there on these women.

Women weren't respected in my view. For example, Eve (may Allah be pleased with her) is blamed for sinning. In the Qur'an, BOTH Adham and Eve were to blame.

depends. I don't deny women had their part in biblical times but at the time they were all very sexist when it came to womens rights.

Actually there are many stories of strong women, that appear to promote feminism, but then you read 1Timothy 2:15 and get confused.
