friend of mine did me a favor and hooked me up with this dealer only auction service where he has access to cars for wholesale prices.I gave him 3,000 dollars for a 2002 volkswagen beetle..it was involved inan acident so he and I made and aggreement that he would do the labor for free , just as long as I bought the parts, keep in mind this was in 9/2005.I went throught financial difficulties, so I wasn't able to come up with the money until 10/2006. at that point I gave him 1000 dollars for the parts he told me he would have the car ready in an month, amonth passes, the car isn't ready, he tells me to give him until christmas, christmas, comes, he says give him another two weeks, that time passes. no progress on my car, february comes, he tells me he'll have out my march 1, march 1 st passes, no progress on the car,so he tells me if I give him 600.00 dollars he'll paint that car, and have it done in 5 days, and that was the end of march so now it's been three weeks and I still don'

do not have a car, and I've been borrowing a friends car of mine,and he needs it by saturday, and so now I will have no transportation..Should I ask for my money back

Nice friend, sounds like you've been had. Definitely ask for your money back and also receipts, if he bought car parts with the 1K that you gave him. I would find someone else, a professional and let your friend know that. Don't let him talk you out of it.

Has he done any work at all on this car? I mean, have you seen yourself that he has done work on this car? I'm betting not.

Get your car back so you can get it fixed.

Sorry, but you'll never likely see the money you gave him, and it's obvious that he's not going to fix the car.

Where is this friendship you're trying to save? The only friend I'm seein' is the guy who loaned you his car. Cut your losses and get clear of that other fool. He's a leech and doing nothing but getting what he can out of you.

Yes. Your 'friend' has been taking your money as long as he thought you would give it to him. Take the vehicle to a reputable person.

Or, if the vehicle in question doesn't exist, you could even get him for fraud. Something tells me this guy isn't really a friend.
