The benefits of prayer are too many to mention here!
You have direct communication with the Almighty God of the universe!
The Bible says that we may go "boldly" before the throne and ask what we need!
People that pray tend to be more healthy!
There really are miracles that happen when people pray!
To pray effectively, we need to believe that God exists and hears us! We must have faith!
Prayer must be to the Father through the son, Christ Jesus! The Bible says that no man goes to the Father unless he comes through the son. So we must pray in the name of Christ.
Prayer must be sincere and from the heart, for it is the heart that is the seat of all motivation and God searches our hearts!
Prayer need not be wordy or be laced with fancy speech! The good news is no matter what language you pray in or how uneducated you are, the Lord will understand!
You may go to the Lord and talk to Him and pour all your burdens out, His shoulders are big enough to carry them!
Remember that God is love, and is always looking for your best interest. Sometimes when people are not answered, there is a reason for it, like their long term well being!
God tells us no when it is not good for us!
Also, you should understand that God does not work on our timetable! God has His own timetable to work out an answer to your prayer, it is not based on our logic. God's thoughts are not like ours!
God wants our prayers and fellowship with us. Please think of prayer as communication with the Almighty Most High God of the universe! We are privledged to have this direct link!
Just pray whatever is in your heart through Christ's name and God will hear you! Praying is simple! God bless you!

I have spoken to Moslems approximately this. One of the matters that the five instances an afternoon prayer offers them is that they're not ever very a long way from prayer. At so much a couple of hours. This signifies that Allah is not ever a long way from their ideas, and this has a truly have an impact on on they every day lives. As a Christian, I determined this so much fascinating. So many people pray as soon as every week in Church (if we even trouble to head). But, Moslems have some way of dwelling their religion day-to-day, some thing I consider we Christians must do extra of!

It benefits me just in my daily life and getting through all my struggles. Even though at times I question if there is a God, I feel better when I pray so maybe there is. I just talk to him like I'm talking to an invisible friend and if I need help then I ask for some help.

There are many benefits of prayer.
You humble yourself before God and acknowledge your dependance upon Him for guidance.
You maintain your relationship with God and remember your covenants and promises to obey Him and do His will.
You receive guidance through the workings of the Holy Ghost to answer your prayerful inquiries.
Your faith is strengthened.
You gain confidence that you know what God wants from you. You know what to do and how to go about doing it.
You have peace in your heart and in your mind. This is the working of the comforter, the Holy Ghost, that comes to you as a result of humble, faithful prayer.
You pray by pondering your blessing and your needs. Then you kneel down, in humility before Him and calling upon Him by name (Father, God) you tell him the desires of your heart. You thank Him, acknowledging what He has done for you, and ask Him about your concerns. You close in the name of Jesus Christ. Then you wait and ponder on your prayer and try to feel in your heart and in your mind for the answer to come to you, whether it be a good, calm, comforting feeling or a confused, uncomfortable feeling. The calm, peaceful feeling means that your question and decision was correct. The confused feeling means that your decision was wrong and you need to think it through again.
We can pray about almost anything that concerns us or our various responsibilities as long as it is a right thing to ask. In other words, we don't ask for purely selfish things that have no righteous purpose. We don't pray for things that are truly superficial and meaningless.
For instance, I might pray about whether to spend money on fixing up my house because that means a significant dedication of our family resources and we would have to forego other things in order to fix the house. I want to know if this is a wise choice. However, I will not ask about what color of paint to use or how far back I should trim my hedge. We need to use some common sense on what we can decide and what things might make a significant difference.
When I got married, I knew that I could not afford to make a wrong decision so I went to God in prayer to make sure that I was choosing correctly. I did and it was.
You get the idea. James 1:5 says "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting".

Like any spell, a prayer spell to a God is not done without preparation, knowledge, and an intense belief that the prayer will be successful.

Salat (prayer)is the second most important act of worship in Islam, after the shahadah (declaration of faith) and is often referred to as the second pillar of Islam.

Salat is obligatory worship and must be performed five times a day at prescribed times. These five times are dawn (Fajr), immediately after noon (Dhuhr), mid-afternoon ('Asr), sunset (Maghrib), and early night (Isha').

Ritual cleanliness and ablution are required before salat, as are clean clothes and location, and the removal of shoes. One may pray individually or communally, at home, outside, virtually any clean place, as well as in a mosque, though the latter is preferred. Special is the Friday noon prayer, called Jum'ah. It, too, is obligatory and is to be done in a mosque, in congregation. It is accompanied by a sermon (Khutbah), and it replaces the normal Dhuhr salat.

There is no hierarchical clerical authority in Islam, no priests or ministers. salats are led by any learned person who knows the Qur'an and is chosen by the congregation. He (or she, if the congregation is all women) is called the imam. There is also no minimum number of congregants required to hold communal salats. salat consists of verses from the Qur'an and other salats, accompanied by various bodily postures - standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting. They are said in Arabic, the language of the revelation, though personal supplications (Du'ah) can be offered in one's own language. Worshippers face the Qiblah, the direction of the Ka'bah in the city of Makkah.

The significance of salat lies in one's maintaining a continuous link to God five times a day, which helps the worshipper avoid misdeeds if he/she performs the salat sincerely. In addition it promotes discipline, God-consciousness and placing one's trust in Allah alone, and the importance of striving for the Hereafter. When performed in congregation it also provides a strong sense of community, equality and brotherhood/sisterhood

God already knows you and your heart. I think that if you want to start to pray, you should go somewhere you can be alone and quiet and comfortable. Then just talk. God loves you so much, and He is waiting to hear you. Just do it.
