Okay recently i have gathered up some money and I need help find the best cammera well under 400 dollars. I found a digital SLR for 317 dollars of amazon, but it doesn't come with a flash or a lense. I really don't care what brand it is but i would prefer eather olympus or nikon. Please give me an answer soon.

As someone else mentioned, I also would recommend the Canon Powershot S3 IS. I purchased one for $350 last month. Whatever camera you purchase, expect to lay out another $50-100 on memory card/s and rechargeable batteries.

The Canon S3 is not a DSLR, but you are not going to find one complete with lens in your price range.

The S3 has 12x zoom, a swivel LCD screen, fantastic video clip capability, 6.1 megapixels, and lots of features. Best of all, it is user friendly, with buttons and knobs ... too many digital cameras require you to make all changes through the onscreen menu, by which time the shot you wanted could be gone.

Google "Canon Powershot S3 IS review" and you will get a number of reviews to read through.

If you want a digital camera, get a Canon -- they are by far and away the best digital camera makers because they got into it first, so everyone else has been scrambling to catch up. If you want a standard 35mm SLR film camera, go for a Nikon like an N80 or something like that -- Nikon film cameras are built like tanks. They'll take all kinds of abuse and come back for more, and their optics are first-rate.

Personally, I'm a canon girl all the way. But Photography is my business... If you want great deals, check out the company sites. They have the best descriptions for products. Then start searching! My two top picks are ebay and tigerdirect.com. I bought the canon rebel xti with lens kit, and a 2gig card for 750. (tigerdirect) I would suggest taking a good look at the powershot series from canon just because of the great features! Feel free to email any q's to this name or allyouphotography@yahoo.com

I have owned a long line of Olympus digital cameras: they are the best for the price.

Each time I buy one I sale the old one and buy up.

All my friends have Olympus too. It is the easiest user friendly camera and the photos are great.

I like Canon because the AF (autofocus) is nicer for portraiture than Nikons is...

(try Sammys camera)
