if she doesn't already have it maybe she needs some equipement like a stethescope or a watch with a second hand. Tiffany's also has a nice silver pen for around 100-150 bucks with the caddeceaus (sp) on it.

Well, Drs. need clothes- so a gift card to a local store would be great.
Does the daughter-in-law need any special equipment, like stethoscopes? Scrubs? I know hospitals supply the scrubs, but I am not sure about stethoscopes.
Perhaps a nice necklace with a birthstone on it? (I guess the price depends on how much she is willing to spend).
Just a few ideas.

Well, this is probably going to be a little biased since I'm graduating from college in less than a month. However, money is the best gift for graduates. We have student loans, we're going to be moving, we need new clothes for the professional world. All this takes money. Personally, I would rather have something useful than some trinket.
