I have to answer just because of airtoms answer.

airtom wrote: The reason I put cell phones first, was, I had a very good friend that was talking on one, while driving, lost control and had a wreck, got killed. If they hadn't invented them, she would be alive today

If she hadn't answered the phone
If someone hadn't called her
If her parents used a condom 9 months before she was born
if...
if...
if...

airtom. The cell phone did not kill your friend. She killed herself by stupidly not paying attention to her driving.

Thats whats wrong with today's society. people making up excuses and blaming everything on something else rather than taking responsibility. Like the stupid woman who sued McDonalds for being served hot coffee. (did she want cold coffee?) then stupidly drive with it between her legs and spill it on herself.

The woman was at fault for spilling it on herself while drive. McDonalds did not cause her to spill it. Yet they had to pay millions to that P.O.S.

To answer the original question though...
Since you ask in Military I assume you are talking about Worst Military Inventions.
There are many but I will list my number one. dont have time for all ten

SUBROC: It fires from our Submarine. goes to the surface where it takes off like a missile into the air. It then re-enters the water and detonates a nuclear depth bomb, destroying the Enemy submarine.

Unfortunately the maximum range of the weapon is inside the minimum range of survivability of the underwater nuclear detonation, making any use of the weapon a suicidal choice.

The Soviets also had a couple of nuclear armed torpedoes with lethality ranges greater than the range of the torpedo.

Solar Powered Flashlights
The technology was invented by UC Santa Barbara's Steven DenBaars.
You have to charge them in the sun for 8+hours to have them work well in the dark.

The French WWI Light Machine Gun called the Sho-Sho

The could only be counted on to fail when it was needed most

The open Magazine allowed all sorts of things to get in and jam the gun

The guns parts from other guns can't be combined and make one WORKING gun like other guns could

Not a good thing to put in the hands of a solder that relies on his weapon to work to save his life.

Dynamite is primarily a tool for mining and construction, so unless you are against those, you'd have to put dynamite on a most useful list, not a "'worst" list.
