i think that if god wanted to say something, he wouldn't charge money for it. what do you think?

why do religious people spend that kind of money on this kind of thing?

You can't buy time with God. You will recall that a man tried to buy the priesthood from Peter so he could do miracles and Peter told him that his money would perish with him. God only talks to those that offer a broken heart (humble) and a contrite spirit (penitent). You have to approach Him in humble, sincere and faithful prayer and then quietly listen for the feelings of the spirit answering your prayer.
To answer your question, No, I would not pay because I know that I would be condemned for daring to try.

If God wanted to charge $400 an hour I would think that would be too cheap. He could make more than that, especially if he had a good agent.

That's silly. Some just like to believe that certain things will get them a better chance at getting into heaven. But all that is required to 'talk' to God is prayer.
All you have to do is pray.

Because they are not a true believer in their heart. I agree, God would certainly not charge me to speak with Him. In fact, I speak with Him everyday.

God is ready and willing to commune with each of us through our own covenant with Him. Why would we need to accept the thought of payment?

We can talk to God any time, if we are sincere.
We can say our own prayers any time anywhere.
We do not need any one to do this for us. That is
such a wonderful privilege. We do not have to pay
for that privilege.

You cant buy your way into the great unknown.... if god wants to speak with me, he/she will do so him/her self. If I want to talk to god... I just do.
