Even if the tower was bigger than any modern day skyscraper, which is impossible without modern steel and engineering, surley it couldn't go out of our atmoshpere. What gives?

God did not strike down the Tower of Babel. He did nothing to it. He just confused the language of the builders so they could no longer communicate while building on the tower. In time, the building project can to a halt. Neither the tower nor the city was ever completed. The tower was meant to be built high, but not literally into the heavens.

God struck down the tower of Babel because the people thought they could reach the kingdom of Heaven through their own works. They continued to the build the tower higher and higher saying that they would build it so high it would reach the heavens. This was quite cocky of them huh? The point God was trying to make was that no one can reach the kingdom of heaven on their own! Space travel is not even the same type of thing! Scientists travel space for research and knowledge.

The tower of Babel was an astrological observatory and it did not literally rise into the heavens. The religion derived out of its construction was astrology. Men have traveled to near space, but not outer space. If you believe the lie that we have been to the moon, then you are willing to ignore all of the scientific evidence of why we cannot do it. If you have ever seen an actual mock-up of the lunar landing module, common sense would tell you that there is no way two men could travel to and from the moon in that thing and that it would shield them against the horrendous radiation they would have been bombarded with. the Russians never went to the moon because they knew that it was not possible---they knew about the radiation. The US paid them off to keep quiet. All the supposed photos from the moon are fake, made in a studio at Area 51. Fact is that our government lies to us all of the time. Someday the lies will be exposed.

The tower was built because man thought they could climb up to heaven to see God. We don't travel into space in search of God.

The tower of babel was a ziggurat. It was built with a temple on top for worship of other gods. It had nothing to do with reaching heaven.

Because the people were trying to build a tower to Heaven and ALLAH didn't want that so he struck the tower down and made different languages among the people so they wouldn't understand each other.

the tower of babel was a vain thing, trying to capture the infinite. space travel is not because we remain in awe of the universe.

he didn't destroy the tower because he was afraid they would reach heaven. he destroyed it because the people building it believed that they were better than god and were doing evil things that made them deserve to be destroyed.
