The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene are both canonized saints in the CAtholic Church.
Mary was not an uncommon name nor was Jesus.
However the spelling might have been different in HEbrew and in Aramaic.
Pope Paul VI stated there is no historical evidence that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute.
Some have felt that the Mary who washed the feet of Jesus was Mary Magdalene but that is not proven.

Both the Blessed Virgin Mary & Mary Magdelene are Saints.

But, the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Greater Saint than Mary Magdelene & all the other Saints in Heaven because the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother Of God.

St. Mary is also known as The Virgin Mary. Mary Magdalene was not a saint, although people are named after her.

Catholics are Christian. Anyone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ is a Christian. Most Protestants do not pray to Mary or the Saints, that is one big reason for the Reformation.

anyone who trusts in God through the Lord Jesus Christ is a saint. There is no church with the Godly authority to deny anyone that right, because it's from God. If those Mary's were trusting in God through Jesus Christ, they were saints.

That is, according to the Bible.
