Just hit him in the head with a phone book, the gum will come out or he will swallow it one either way problem solved and it won't leave any bruises. For a long term solution I say get an Airhorn and use it on him next time, sometimes you have to us tough love to get someone to understand what they do is beyond annoying. imo

get someone in the office to come and start talking to you within an area you'll know she'll be able to listen in. Then have this person (hopefully someone she respects) tell you a story about this obnoxious girl her male "cousin" really liked but he never asked her out because she was always chewing her gum like a cow chewing its cud. Maybe she'll think about it.

Ok, this is soooo petty but what you can do is to do it right back but even louder! It is obnoxious but maybe she'll get the hint. If not, then do like the one lady said and turn around like "What is that noise? Ohmygod! It is so distracting!"

Tell her like I tell my kids, stop smacking or I'm coming in after it! When she does it again, go in after it. I've done this twice, and they learned I mean what I say.

I find this annoying to and if I can't absent myself from that person I'll ask them to please quit snapping the gum or get rid of it.

Depends on how ignorant they are is they have any comman sense they will get the message when you turn around and ask..WHAT IS THAT NOISE ?? GOODNESS HOW ANNOYING act like you do not know it is them then keep on working I promise they will get the hint..if they are ignorant they will keep on lol.
