I was thinking about doing this, had anyone else? Did you get the outcome that you had hoped for?x

Yes. Sometimes I had the outcome I expected - freakishly accurate, and until you've experienced it you cannot say it doesn't exist or can't happen. Sometimes nothing. I was never disappointed because I went with an open mind.

Some of the responses to this question are full of fear.
Why are Christians so afraid of spiritualism? What do they have to fear? If, as they say, your spirit goes to heaven or hell, then, according to their belief, spirits cannot be contacted.

You won't go to hell for doing it. You won't get chased by ghosts or ghouls for trying it. In fact - more often than not nothing happens.

Be aware that there are dodgy mediums out there that will rip you off and lie, but they are in no way worse than the men who become priests just so they can interfere with small boys. We don't all become frightened of the church because of this.

To get a clear perspective - Try it - but if you're trying this out of a desperate loss don't have too many expectations. If nothing comes through it doesn't mean the person you were trying to contact doesn't love you or is in a bad place.

I haven't and never would. I believe that there are energies after life that become entangled in what we know to be the proverbial 'land of the living' only b/c they cannot reconcile with being separated from the life they left behind. But these energies are too complex for the human mind in a living state, where all things accepted are only that which you are 'trained' to perceive, to grapple with. I do believe that there are some people who have achieved the natural human capacity for pre-cognitive intuition that I think will come to evolve in us over the next few centuries, or millennium, but they cannot understand nor contact these aimless energies and forces beyond the living. It is a hoax. Some people believe they can, and are only fooled by their own intuition and belief of what it should be, but most are expecting and anticipating that there are people like yourself, that want and/or need closure for some latent guilt or grand curiosity involving someone they can no longer confront. They capitalize off of this and prey on you, and once they start throwing in a few psycho-somatic tactics it's only a matter of watching your reaction to certain things and then telling a story that ensures that you'll be satisfied with the con they are pulling.

I think if you really want to do it, then research carefully before you seek someone to set your mind at ease. You also need to be prepared for being let down. You may not get the answers you want to hear. My mother has twice met with spiritualists to contact my brother who passed recently and she was thrilled with the replies she got for a while. However, it left her with more questions and it wasn't enough. We are going to see Colin Fry in October and I'll be able to see for myself and decide.
Why don't you try visiting your local spiritualist church just to get an idea of how these things work? Good luck, and remember your loved one in the happy times you shared together, it is too easy to dwell on the bad things in life.

Not unless you want to be lied to. It's the oldest parlor trick in the world and has no basis in fact. It's done to the most gullible.

Don't buy into that. If you want to communicate with a loved one who has passed, just meditate about it. Talk to them in your heart and mind. Mention them when you talk to God.

God Bless and give you strength!

Absolutely NOT!!

Scripture CLEARLY teaches us NOT to attempt to communicate with the deceased. Necromancy, is the communication with alleged spirits of the dead. This is strongly forbidden in the Scriptures (Lev. 20:6,27; Deut. 18:9-14). The point is made clear in Isaiah 8:19. "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Distressed and hungry they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness." It means that so called communications with the dead are not of God and should not be indulged. First Chronicles 10:13 states that Saul died for his disobedience to God in contacting one with a familiar spirit.

The term, familiar spirit, is a spirit that mediums claimed they could summon for consultation (Deut. 8:11). The word familiar has the sense of the Latin familiaris, belonging to ones family, and hence ready to serve one as a servant. Such a spirit was thought to be able to reveal the future. The mediums usually are through to be associated with these familiar spirits. Today's mediums prefer to refer to them as spirit guides. The witch of Endor was known for her association with a familiar spirit (1 Sam. 28:7). Saul, in seeking to communicate with the deceased Samuel, contacted this known witch. As stated previously that contact cost him his life.

No. When my wife crossed over, I simply raised my voice a little. The road wasn't that wide or busy.

There's really no need for the obfuscating language.
