"Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Mungoba Utubu and my father was the Minister of the Interior in Tanginika. After the coup he placed a large sum of cash from the government coffers in a Swiss bank Account. If you send us $5000.00 to assist in the fee to access the account we will repay not only your $5000.00 investment but afford you 6% of the goverment funds in the account".
Yeah...sure...count me in. I agree. Some of these schemes are so out landish you wonder just what these people were thinking when they were grifted.
How many times when a message from AOL or some other business pops up and says "We lost your account information, please re-send" people actually do it?
Ah well...that's entertainment!

Well, there ARE those people who don't get out much & fall prey to telephone scams & door-to-door cons, but the people who get scammed on the internet seem to be missing something when they read those emails. Most of them are greed based & let you know that they are scaming their employers & government officials by wanting you to ACT as a next-of-in to get the money they so desperately want to deposit into your account for helping them with their overseas transactions! I used to email them a nasty NO letter, then I realized that this is how they got my real name!...from my email address! Then they send a phoney bank letter & if I actually HAD a bank account, then I might respond to them & not realize that I was really talking to the scammers who sent me the other emails! They can clean you out in 30 seconds once they get all the numbers, names, & address that are needed to do it, so I don't laugh at all the people who get ripped off, just some of them. I don't use the computer for anything that I can do in person. I want a face & a receipt to go with all of my transactions. I never shop online. Too risky!

Depends, really.
When someone preys on the elderly or those that tend to be more trusting and less wealthy.
Basically, why don't those idiots that scam others go after someone that could kick their @$$ when they find out they were scammed?
Answer: Because they are lazy cowards.

Most of the cases that people get sucked in are the result of greed on the part of the victim. They get what they deserve.

It is true what they say, A sucker IS born every minute. I don't feel a bit sorry for someone who gets suckered by these dumb scams.

I'll admit I feel bad for them but at the same time it really is their fault. Mostly, I'm just glad it wasn't me.
