No. If you miss someone at first, then that is normal... But soon, you will get tired of MISSING them and you will try to find a person to take their place. That's why long distance relationships are so hard.

If you had a great friendship to begin with yes. I have been away from my bf for 2 years and I love him so much more now. We are only able to write or email. We can't even talk on the phone. While I do not recommend this to the avg person, I do feel that I have discovered a lot about our relationship from his absence. Ya, it kinda sucks because he is coming home April 30 and I am leaving May 1 to go work 2000 miles away for five months more. It is okay though, we will make it work.

That really depends on the people in the situation. I have been in a long distance relationship for over a year now. At the beginning I would go crazy just waiting for his visits. I still look forward to seeing him, but I'm a little more patient. Trust and love will take you a long ways while distance separates people. I guess it is kind of sad to have to "get used to" the distance, but it's reassuring knowing the love is shared and the relationship is still working. Keeping communication is one of the most important things during long distance.

It can......if you truely are in love with someone, and that person leaves for a length of time.........the distance between the two does make your heart grow fonder. Not having that person around to talk with, laugh with, spend time with, hold and comfort with......makes you want them more. You realize what you have and want it back to make you whole again.

True love: Oh yeah?
I will explain that attitude now:
Apartness is dandy;
togetherness is dandier.
Being apart makes the heart
grow fonder of somebody handier!

If there is really something there it does. My beau is in NV and has been gone for a long time and I miss him llike crazy but would never consider cheating and I can't wait to see him again! We have been apart many times and it seems that when he comes back we are so much closer than when he left.

Nope. Absence makes the heart (feelings for them) grow dull. You start to lose touch with the good associations of the person.

If absence made things better, long distance relationships would be phenomenally successful. But they aren't therefore, it is the opposite.

Sometimes it seems so when you are missing someone a lot. This happens even when you've broken up with the person for very good reasons. Suddenly, you can't remember those reasons and he is looking better and better every day.

Yes.......... it does. I think once the person is gone for a while you really get to realize how much you really care about theme. It also test your love and dedication to that person.My boyfriend is gone for 3-4 weeks at a time
