The country with the largest Muslim population is not in the Middle East it is in Indonesia

I understand where you are coming from when people find out that I am a Muslim they ask why? where you forced? isn't your husband abusive? how could you live that way? do you want your children to grow up to be terrorist? For all these people they have no clue what they are talking about.

I am proud to say that I am a Muslim and an American of Irish/German decent. My children will grow up to be wonderful peace loving people. I am married to the most loving, respectful, and caring man in the world.

I agree. I'm also an white American Muslim woman and the media seems to think that only Arabs are Muslims when there are thousands of non Arabs who are Muslims as well. I think that's prejudice and stereotyping as well. However the media doesn't care about anything except making Muslims and Islam look back and being mean to Arabs and Muslims. And about making money. It's because good Muslims don't sell and so they spread lies about Muslims and Islam to fill their pockets and get ratings.

Well "everyone" doesn't think that. Most people don't even think that. And it's not "all" tv portrays either. Even "24" has a lot of great muslims in every single "day". The terrorists are muslim extremists on that show about half the time.

The squeeky wheel gets the grease.

I personally and people I know, do not assume you are a Terrorist! I am just a lowly Pagan, environmentalist, human rights, womens rights and social justice supporter and voice against poverty. I don't steriotype. I strive to keep my gaurd up on that one.

I hate my steriotype also! Apparently I am a Satanist according to many Christians here. I vehimently, know better!

Peace!

The only thing you can do to change a stereotype is to break it.

I'm sorry that the media stereotypes, but what fraction of muslims are white, anyway?

As a fellow Muslim, I am in the same boat as you. I was raised in an Irish/Italian household, and people don't come much whiter than me (short of being an albino).

I've never thought that about muslims. There are plenty of us who know better, sweetie.
