It's always better to ignore than to say something you will regret.

Ignore

You don't say what he's doing so we really don't know if he's being a jerk.

You also don't say if your read his message and what it said if you did.

So all I can say is ignore him. A sarcastic comment is rarely a valid response.

If you believe that being nice is not an option, then you should ignore him.... unless you want to be a jerk like you say he is !

Remember there's an old saying... "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything."

Well it all depends on what the message was if it made you feel bad then send him something back knowing that it is going to hurt him too so don't ignore him cause from the looks of it he wants your attention so give it to him and send him a sarcastic comment. God Bless to you and to your loved ones... :o)

In what way is he being a jerk? Dont give him the silent treatment, thats just silly and petty. If you feel you cant be nice then be straight with him and tell him you cant say anything nice right now, and so maybe its best if you dont say anything at all...........this is being completely honest and straight up with him and its all that any guy(or girl)could hope to get from another person. Dont do it for him, do it for yourself, so that no matter what happens you'll know you conducted yourself with dignity and honour. And believe me that is worth something.

I think you should ignore him and let him stress out a little by not replying. He'll be sorry that he acted like a jerk.

this all depends on u...do u want to add fuel onto the fire or do u just want ur space to cool off to not make things work.....im the type that would be sarcastic to get my grl mad but i realized 2 wrongs dont make a rite....so instead i just do my own thing until i feel that person is really sorry but if it continues then u need to be an *** to show that ur not gonna be pushed around

What purpose would being 'nasty' serve? Would it improve the situation? Would it cause you to look or be a better person? Would it improve his attitude?

Being nice IS an option, you simply do not desire to do it. It's your karma...do as you like...just remember, what goes around, comes around. I figure it's better to treat others as I would like to be treated, than to get petty and vindictive when someone isn't behaving as I desire. It's just not worth the negative energy.

Respond and tell him what he has done that upset you. Do you beleive that he intentionally is being a jerk and wants to make you suffer? Probably not. Communication is vital in relationships. Don't waste time playing games.

Being nice is not an option?
Ok don't be passive aggressive or sarcastic because that'll jus irritate him.
If he's acting that badly towards you and you can't talk about it dump him!!
