I doubt it.. Adults with Fetal alcohol syndrome have difficulty maintaining successful independence. They have trouble staying in school, keeping jobs, or sustaining healthy relationships. They require long-term support and some degree of supervision in order to succeed. Other characteristics:

Attention deficits
Memory deficits
Hyperactivity
Difficulty with abstract concepts
Inability to manage money
Poor problem solving skills
Difficulty learning from consequences
Immature social behavior
Inappropriately friendly to strangers
Lack of control over emotions
Poor impulse control
Poor judgment

I'm sorry, but your friend is misinformed. Fetal Alcohol syndrome can only occur when a mother who is carrying a child consumes a larger that average amount of alcohol during the time the baby is in development. There is no way the syndrome can be passed on from the father.

I work in middle school special education, and children born with fetal alcohol syndrome and drug addictions sometimes do not display any symptoms or signs until they reach puberty and their bodies begin producing hormones, and then it becomes very apparent. Most have processing difficulties which are diagnosed as learning disabilities, its like their brains are not wired properly. Some have physical abnormalities like enlarged heads or downs syndrome. It can show itself in many ways. Your parent can request testing by the school for special education assistance.

Well, you could have it... but it should have been recognized at birth by a physician. You should actually be able to tell by your face. Is your forehead larger than average? Do you have different-shaped eyes? There are lots and lots of ways you can tell... but some cases are milder than others. Your case, if you even have it, is probably extremely mild seeing as how nobody even noticed it during your entire childhood. If I were you, I just wouldn't worry about it.

Good Luck

Was your mother a heavy drinker while she was pregnant with you?

Do you think you have brain damage?

If you are concern have a talk to your doctor.

If you are the one drinking alcohol then the answer is no but you can cause yourself other health problems.

Usually this is a condition that is apparent at birth. It certainly doesn't just appear at age 15; if you had it, you would have had problems all your life. Here are the facts on it.

they check your blood at the hospital and look for symtoms they would have known then. most babies that have it also have alcohol either in there system or withdrawls at birth. it would be unlikely, but i have been known to be wrong lol.

It's quite possible that you have FAS or FAE if your mother drank while she was pregnant with you.
