We would not have free will if he revealed himself to us.

God will never take our free will away. He wants us to love him, He doesn't force anyone to do anything.

Once Jesus comes back to earth and sets up His kingdom during the 1000 year reign, there will still be free will for everyone. At the end of the 1000 years, some will choose to rebel against Him. Read Revelation 20 - 22.

Even when Jesus himself sits on the throne and rules the world, there will still be some who deny Him.

Adam and Eve were in that position and chose to disobey. We still have free will, just have to accept the consequences. That is something we have problems with today, making wrong choices but still wanting rewards.

The Bible warns warring against God brings death.

Christians believe God has and does reveal himself. But even if God were to visit someone's house and spank their little bottom red, denial of the event is always possible. It could have been a bad dream, an epileptic episode, some hallucination caused by food poisoning.

How does it affect your choice between following Him and warring against Him today?

He HAS revealed himself...

in the eyes of a child, in the love from our parents, in a raging forest fire, in the crashing waves of the ocean, in the opening of a flower, in the voice of the "crazy-lady" saying you'll burn if you don't turn to Christ (who then goes back in and cries and prays for you all day because she doesn't want one child of God to be lost)

How does it affect your choice between following him and warring against Him today??

I LIKE this question! Finally one that doesn't seemed bias and mocking. Thank you.

If God showed himself to man, we'd all be dead. Seriously. God told Moses that if Moses looked at His face, Moses would die. He is just too powerful for us to even see. Moses DID get to see Him walk away though, and after that it's said the face of Moses was shining so brightly that the people asked Moses to put on a veil because it was freaking them out and they felt embarrased about their failures. So we can't look at God's face or we'd perish.

Now, if you are just figurativly speaking about God showing himself to us...lets look at that. If you saw God, would you be able to deny what you saw if you saw Him with your own eyes without lying? That would make you a believer and you wouldn't question His word anymore and take it for what it says because you know the truth. You would not be able to honestly deny Him. If you saw how powerful He was, would you even TRY to make war against Him? Honestly? Sure, man has split the atom, but He created it to begin with. There is nothing man can make that would harm Him, nothing, nada, zilch. The bible says "No weapon built against me shall prosper." and for good reason.

Yes, it would affect free will. You would no longer be choosing to follow or not, you could not honestly deny what you have seen. The time for this WILL come eventually, but not here on earth. The question is will He say to you "Good job, my good and faithful servant." or will He say "Begone, I never knew you."??

Whether or not God reveals himself or not you have free will as long as you do what you are told to. And whether or not you think you are doing what you are told, still you are.

And warring against God wouldn't be much fun or last very long. Fruitless endeavor, really.

Lucifer did. If you want to buy into the bible, there are a number of examples of beings who knew god but still warred against him. Therefore, in the biblical mythology, it is possible to have free will even if you know god personally. Furthermore, you have the myth of Doubting Thomas who saw the Jesus risen from the grave and still didn't believe until he could touch his wounds. So, clearly, revelation alone is not enough.

So, if god does show up, I will admit my Atheism is wrong but I'm not going to turn into one of his sheep.

Not a lot. People would still believe what they want to, facts being irrelevant to belief.

Free will and predestination are philosophical concepts that have no applicable validity since they cannot be detected and even if one were true it would make no difference in how we appeared to function.

God does exhibit himself you only do not see him head to head he printed himself to me yet via revealing himself he does not violate unfastened will on account which you nevertheless would desire to come to a decision directly to have confidence what God printed and you nevertheless would desire to come to a decision directly to stick to God he only pushes you in the terrific direction yet he in no way forces you to have confidence and a large occasion of God revealing himself examine out Brian"Head"Welch leaving Korn interview
