My date is wearing a black dress and i am tired of getting lame corsages with just a single wilted ugly rose! any ideas?

I am wearing a black tux with silver vest and silver tie. she is wearing black dress with silver broach... (also sidenote, would a black shirt look better than white for me?)

Go to the floral shop and tell them you want something dramatic. I'm sure they can pick something great for you.

Something with a lot of color...exotic maybe...or maybe a really bright colored lily or orchid. If she likes pink I think bright almost magenta pink with white babies breath with black sound very nice. Ask your florist and see what they can help you create. Remember something bright and usual (extravagant or exotic) will make her feel like the most beautiful and special woman in the room!!! She'll be able to tell that you put a lot of thought into it and if you helped design it it'll be all that much more special to her even after the prom is over. Good luck finding something she'll love and have fun at prom!!!

Ok, the really big question here is... does SHE want something extravagant??? I'm a florist, and I don't know how many girls I've seen come into my shop and go "oh. this is what he got me? can you change it?" Even if she is extravagant, she may be going to simple and chic since her dress is black.
If she is cool with having a big thing on her wrist... ask your florist! There is nothing florists like more than the words "I don't know, what do you think?" Florists like to have creative lisence. Tell her that your date's dress is black. She'll have a few suggestions, but for the most part... she'll know exactly what to make. Don't get in her way!

Either a white or a red corsage would be very fashionable. You indicate you will be in all black so I am assuming also the shoes and purse will be black, Otherwise you could coordinate with these as possible options.

So yeah, ask the florist it is what they do. Orchids and lilies are great. But if you find a black rose that is unique, just make sure to have a contrast. Lilies are my favorite b/c of the fragrance. I would definately stay away from carnations, boring.
Or what color are her eyes? Maybe that will score you brownie points!

red roses. for sure. They are very classy. I have been to a wedding with black brides maid dresses and rich red roses it was very beautiful.

well u could ask for different arrangements when u go to the flower store. i think a white lily would be pretty. but just ask and see what options they have

orchids, they are classy and exotic. Try a white one, there is a variety of colors.
